The AppleCare Instructional Design Project Manager works with various business partners to identify training needs, design, and build instructor-led, computer-based, and virtual training using ground breaking technology and innovative solutions. This Instructional Design Project Manager is capable of leading a collaborative development process while working closely with training developers, training delivery managers, and key project partners. You'll work under tight deadlines with minimal supervision in a fast-paced dynamic environment that demands high quality, creativity, and consistency.

Description

Coordinate, implement, and manage training development initiatives. Develop and maintain project plans and schedules, and communicate changes in scope in a timely manner. Develop and maintain project communications. Craft and maintain training documentation related to each project (such as project plans, timelines, gather sites, etc.). Engage with the Developer Manager to ensure proper developer assignment to each project, as needed. Incorporate feedback to assess training effectiveness and evolving training content. Prepare reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing training outcomes data and trends. Work with the training delivery team to determine the training needs of AppleCare. Create experiential activities geared towards adult learners. Transform task lists into learning objectives. Design, develop, and maintain ground classroom, virtual classroom, and self-paced training content using both traditional instructional design and rapid development strategies. Ensure training is innovative, engaging, and on the cutting edge of training technology. Review developer content for technical and procedural accuracy. Hold training-related project meetings with appropriate team members and stakeholders as needed - i.e training kick-off meetings, training check-in meetings, delivery coordination meetings, sites training readiness meetings, and training project debrief meetings. Work closely with the Localization team to devise a localization strategy for each project. Work closely with the Learning Management Admin to devise an assignment strategy.

Proven project manager who knows how to build project briefs, timelines, and work independently and be self-directed.Ability to work effectively on global and virtual teams and accommodate time differences.Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication.3+ years experience in managing projects and/or training development work.Bachelor's Degree or equivalent required; Master's or higher degree in a related field a plus.

Preferred Qualifications

High aptitude for managing and solving tactical issues.Ability to manage multiple projects within tight timeframes.Quickly and effectively shifts gears to meet changing business requirements.Strong sense of personal accountability for project success.Experience with web-authoring tools and multimedia (basic HTML coding skills, Dreamweaver, XML, javascript & CSS).Experience working within learning and content management systems.
