Job Summary

The University Communications Specialist - Editorial Services creates engaging content and messages for a variety of platforms to tell the University story. Support University marketing and communications efforts.

ResponsibilitiesWrite and edit stories, press releases and other content for media and public relations efforts, the university magazine, marketing, and other university promotional materials including publications, brochures, websites, ads and other printed and digital materials.Establish and maintain relationships with administrators, faculty, staff and students for news gathering and source development.Coordinate photography, videography and design for a wide variety of publications and other sources. (i.e., web, social media, news)Manage and develop writing projects, presentations and speeches.Support planning, development and coordination of both internal and external communications projects.Assist various units and departments in creating and delivering news and information to internal and external populations.

Required Qualifications

Educational RequirementsBachelor's Degree in English, Communication Arts, Journalism, Marketing or related field

Required ExperienceThree (3) or more years of related work experience

Preferred Qualifications

Additional Preferred QualificationsDemonstrated ability to write for different platforms and audiences

Preferred ExperienceEstablished portfolio of writing experienceExperience with coordinating videography, photography and other creative services

Proposed Salary

$46,513 - $50,000

This is a non-exempt position paid on a biweekly basis
