Salary Range: $65,000 - $68,000

The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Position Summary

Located within the Office of Alumni Relations & Development (OAD), the Marketing Strategy & Enablement team partners with Columbia University's schools and programs to develop comprehensive marketing strategies. The team consists of three divisions - Marketing Analytics & Performance, Marketing Content & Creative, and Marketing Optimization & Integration - that deliver tailored, relevant content through preferred channels to maximize engagement and return on investment. The Marketing Optimization & Integration unit works closely with cross-functional teams, leveraging industry-leading technology to provide omni-channel campaigns that reach constituents on their preferred channels, at the right time, with the right content.

Reporting to the Assistant Director, Digital Marketing, Marketing Optimization, and Integration, the Digital Marketing Coordinator is responsible for supporting the strategy, implementation, and execution of digital marketing campaigns through social and paid media, SEO, email, texting, and web platforms. The individual will assist the Assistant Director as they liaise with key stakeholders across OAD on initiatives that impact alumni and donors across Columbia.

Responsibilities

Works in close collaboration with colleagues across the marketing strategy and enablement team to amplify broad-based messaging that drives alumni and donor engagement, fundraising, and stewardship.

Supports and develops new digital marketing processes and campaigns. Projects include but are not limited to, Columbia Giving Day and other broad-based engagement and giving initiatives.

Assists with digital marketing campaigns including organic social media, paid advertising, and email marketing campaigns in pursuit of organizational fundraising and engagement objectives.

Maintains databases, prepares reports, and conducts data analysis.

Supports and tracks results around KPIs and benchmarks for past and future initiatives.

Builds and deploys email in support of marketing and engagement campaigns.

Contributes to the development and marketing of OAD's external-facing websites (Columbia Giving, Columbia Alumni Association, and Giving Day).

Fosters a culture of documentation for new campaigns, onboarding, best practices, and internal processes.

Collaborates with marketing colleagues across OAD to ensure marketing communications are coordinated with staff across all levels within the department and University.

Performs related duties and responsibilities as assigned/requested.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and/or its equivalent required, including 0-2 years of marketing, advertising, graphic design, or related experience.

Strong proficiency in Google Workspace and Microsoft Office applications, including Access, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, is required.

Proven digital marketing experience with hands-on experience with HTML, Marketing Cloud/ Salesforce, and content management systems.

Demonstrated excellence in a variety of competencies including teamwork, analytical thinking, and customer service.

The successful candidate must demonstrate the ability to work with changing priorities across multiple projects with multiple groups.

The Marketing Coordinator must have excellent organizational, interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills and an acute attention to detail.

Must be able to independently troubleshoot and problem-solve, as well as identify when to escalate issues when necessary.

This candidate must be adaptable to time-sensitive projects and willing to work some evenings and weekends.

Preferred Qualifications

Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, integrated broad-based marketing, Google Analytics, and other tracking and analysis tools is preferred.

Prior experience working in a higher educational institution or similar not-for-profit organization is highly preferred.
