Job Title: Design Project ManagerJob description: As an external-facing role, the individual is tasked with overseeing the design deliverables for the customer. They are designated as the primary point of contact for all mechanical and process design tasks on a given project.Job ResponsibilitiesCapturing the application dataUnderstanding the customer's requirementWorking with customer and internal teams to develop the technical solution for customers' problems and requirementsParticipating in the simultaneous engineering process with the customerIdentify the technical scope with the customerCreate and identify customer accountability points that might adversely affect the execution of the project (adverse: delays, cost overruns, quality)Creating and tracking design planEdit and modify the machine and plant layouts as and when requiredKeeping track of customer deliverables like drawings, CAD models, process sheets, etc.Co-ordination with design teams overseas (especially with India)ExperienceAbility to read and understand the equipment and plant layoutsAbility to understand and analyze the tolerance and tolerance stack-upsGood knowledge of tools and fixturesFair understanding of the controls system typically used in automationAbility to perform FMEAAbility to perform Risk AnalysisShould have fair judgment about the cost of engineering components and choicesEducation RequirementsBachelor's degree in mechanical, aerospace, or electrical engineering.Reports to: Engineering Manager#J-18808-Ljbffr
