We believe that flexibility in work/life balance is a critical part of our culture and employee satisfaction.Role Description:Working from home or from one of Pearsons US-based offices, the senior content developer is responsible for writing, reviewing, and revising curriculum, instructional materials, multimedia, supplementary resources, and assessments to support successful, effective teaching and the achievement of student outcomes. As a member of the school-dedicated team, the senior content developer will work with teachers and administrators to identify and prioritize school needs, develop their solutions, and lead the team to test, validate, and deliver the solutions to our school customers.Responsibilities:Develop course enhancements, curricular resources, instructional materials, etc. according to teacher and/or student specifications.Directly manage a small but mighty cross-functional development team including an editorial quality assurance analyst, a content architecture and integration analyst, and various external contingent workers.Lead subject matter experts and/or strategic partners to develop course enhancements in alignment to standards.Update and maintain course documentation including course maps, learning objective frameworks, course metadata, and alignments.Demonstrate depth and/or breadth of expertise in own specialized field and provides expertise to various stakeholders.Propose and implement new ways of developing content, including the use of generative AI.Measure long-term impact on course performance and learner outcomes.Partner closely with the team's Solutions Manager to ensure high-quality curriculum development.Stay current on online education and curriculum development strategies, trends, and initiatives.Qualifications:Bachelors degree required; degree in education, curriculum, or similar area preferred.Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience or curriculum development required, with virtual learning preferred.Deep understanding of K-12 academic standards and curriculum development.Proven track record of meeting deadlines while producing highly accurate work.Basic understanding of Agile methodologies and collaboration with product management teams.Excellent verbal and writing skills.Knowledge of Learning Management Systems (LMS) or Educational Management Systems.Technologically proficient with Microsoft Office, Azure Dev Ops, Google Suite.Must enjoy a challenging work environment that requires flexibility, self-direction, creativity, strong communication, and organizational skills.This position is eligible to participate in an annual incentive program, and information on benefits offered is here.Pearson is an Affirmative Action and Equal Opportunity Employer and a member of E-Verify.
