Description:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Partner with MercyOne executives and service line leaders, leverage data and local knowledge to define growth priorities and identify service lines/areas where marketing will have the greatest impact.

Establish and maintain strong working relationships with physicians, clinic staff, regional departments and service lines.

Partner with various sites and service lines to define impactful Customer Relationship Management (CRM) efforts and coordinate implementation with system-wide resources.

Identify marketing’s role and support the implementation of the system-wide strategic plan.

Partner with leaders on new product/service line development.

Use a project management system, data portal and other digital programs to manage project tasks and deadlines, track results, etc.

Own affiliate partner marketing relationships as needed.

Collaborate with and strengthen MarComm colleagues across MercyOne.

Increase Connections with Consumers

Ensure marketing of new providers in the region and partner to introduce the provider across the MercyOne system.

Compose original written information explaining services, products and programs following the MercyOne brand standards and platform.

Leverage system resources to plan, implement and optimize the performance of comprehensive, cross-platform, ROI-focused campaigns to achieve the organization’s objectives and KPIs.

Allocate and manage marketing resources and budget based on potential return on investment.

Guide the planning and coordination of special projects, activities and events that support organizational objectives.

Coordinate information gathering used to update public-facing materials, including the website and patient portals.

Discover Insights and Measure Impact

Prepare and present marketing impact reports and share with executive management.

Measure and improve the effectiveness of messaging, channels and practices.

Constantly review insights to maintain current knowledge about competitor’s position, performance and capabilities. Monitor the environment and initiate action plans as necessary to respond to market opportunities.

Coordinate with Communications and Public Relations

Support communications team to:

Include/develop holistic marketing that includes proactive public relations efforts. Support the team in times of crisis as needed.

Provide insight into the communications strategy related to campaigns and collaborate on connecting internally with colleagues, providers, leaders, etc.

Partner to identify internal client needs including awards submissions, ads, posters, signage, screensavers, etc., and partner with statewide resources on creation.

Partner to gather insights to support patient/consumer experience and surface local or system-wide opportunities to improve consumer experience. Leverage system resources to create assets to achieve objectives. Ex: identify teams with low consumer experience scores and connect with resources for scripting or asset development.

Support communications team and social media manager to advance internal/external objectives related to the use of social media, monitoring activities, and providing reports or insight that help with decision-making.

Manage and Innovate

Manage or mentor marketing and communications colleagues as assigned. In collaboration with system leadership, interview and select colleagues who fit with the MercyOne Culture and demonstrate skills needed to advance MercyOne’s Vision. Ensure colleagues are appropriately oriented to the region and connected to MercyOne resources and training to promote growth.

Continually develop colleagues through an understanding of the professional goals of team members, annual goal development, performance evaluations, team assignments, exposure to formal and informal training, servant leadership and spending time to understand and observe work processes. Engages with colleagues in continuous improvement.

Partner with colleagues and providers to identify new opportunities and develop innovative activations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Proven track record of profitably growing market share.

Curiosity and passion for understanding consumers and how to engage with them including passion for innovation and improvement. Maintain state-of-the-art technical skills by review of literature, professional journals and participation in professional groups.

Foster a positive public image for MercyOne with the ability to anticipate potential reputational issues and exercise high judgment.

Excellent writing and verbal communication skills, with the ability to think and communicate clearly, and formulate what is differentiating and important. Create a concise and well-written narrative.

Ability to relate to people across all levels and diverse backgrounds.

Proven ability to build relationships with executives and leaders.

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment, readily adapting to continually changing priorities, and optimizing per feedback and performance.

Outstanding interpersonal, project management and prioritization skills.

A collaborative, open attitude and a history of working in cross-functional teams.

Maintain knowledge of applicable Federal, State and local laws and regulations, MercyOne Compliance requirements, Standards of Conduct, and other policies and procedures to ensure adherence that reflects honest, ethical and professional behavior.

Familiar with planning, use of data, and new methodologies (social media, databases, project management software, digital portals, etc.).

Familiar with a broad array of health care issues.

Results-oriented, accustomed to working with and owning It to achieve intermediate and long-range goals.

Must be a strong relationship developer, and consultant and demonstrate the ability to deal successfully with many audiences (Physicians, Board Members, Managers and Community Leaders), inherent ambiguities and complexities of a multi-site organization.

Must be able to evaluate issues from a global perspective yet retain the ability to understand and focus on the critical detail relative to the delivery of services.

Demonstrate leadership and management abilities. Must be skilled in management techniques, building consensus and team building, employee engagement, delegation and conflict management. Commitment to improving daily and successfully adapting to changes.

Dedication to leading by example.

5+ years of experience in marketing -- either for a company or an agency -- as well as experience working firsthand with executives.

Bachelor’s degree: Marketing, Communications, Public Relations. Master’s degree preferred.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS

Must be able to set and organize one's work priorities, adapt to them as they change frequently, and prioritize and balance the requirements of working with the System Office, the Executive Leadership Team (ELT), and Regional Ministries.

Must be able to travel to the various MercyOne sites as needed.

Must be able to work concurrently on various tasks/projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment among individuals with diverse personalities and work styles.

Must possess the ability to comply with MercyOne policies and procedures.

Physical surroundings are pleasant and comfortable with minimal exposure to disagreeable conditions. A normal office environment. Minimum physical effort is required, normally seated with some freedom of movement handling light materials or supplies.
