Inside the RoleWe are looking for an exceptional User Interface / User Experience Designer to shape the future UI/UX solutions for Daimler Truck and all its brands. You will be working on research, design, development, documentation, prototyping, and validation of the digital user interface to provide the best user experience to our customers. You will be involved in all development states from ideating to on-truck validation. The Digital User Experience Team focuses on the digital on-truck solutions and works hand in hand with design, engineering, and product strategy teams globally.We Take Care of Our TeamPosition offers a starting salary range of $124,000-158,000

Pay offered dependent on knowledge, skills, and experience

What You Drive at DTNAResponsible for researching, designing, innovating and prototyping new digital user experience and user interface concepts and standardsCollaborate with a diverse team of designers, UI/UX experts, feature owners, project teams, and developers located in Germany, Japan, India, and United StatesReduce driver distraction by applying and developing standardsDesign and conduct user research using methods such as field studies, design sessions, site visits, benchmark studies, usability studies, and heuristic evaluations based on current products and future conceptsSynthesize findings to get a better understanding of end users, give insight into business value, and identify potential usability issues and design opportunitiesRepresent the Digital User Experience Team in Design Reviews to present and review concepts and initial ideas with business unit and project managementApply design thinking and user-centered design principlesCoach and mentor team members and colleagues on all aspects of design - from methodologies to execution

Knowledge You Should BringBachelor's degree in a human-computer interaction related field with 5-7 years of relevant experienceExpertise in Adobe Creative SuiteExperience in Figma, Sketch or XDExperience in automotive or commercial vehicle industryExcellent verbal and written communication skillsDetail oriented, reliable, and self-motivatedAbility to work in an environment of ambiguity and ongoing changeExperience with identifying and solving the root cause of complex problemsUnderstanding of engineering processes and downstream impactsExperience with usability testing and task analysisAttention to detail and affinity to develop efficient and consistent user experience solutionsAbility to quickly and thoroughly create user flows, wireframes, design mockups, and prototypes to effectively conceptualize new product initiatives using User Experience design, Interaction design, and User Interface design principlesExperience in creating and leading the creation of high-quality design systems and UI elements/components, as well as basic knowledge of frameworks and libraries

Exceptional Candidates Might HaveMaster's degree in a human-computer interaction related fieldPrototyping tool experience, e.g. ProtoPieHMI Framework experience, e.g. Kanzi, QT, Unreal Engine, Unity3D or animation SW experienceKnowledge and experience with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
