is the leader in the UX Design team and responsible for defining the user experience and vision for a significant portion of the Tableau product line. This position will work throughout the development life cycle and alongside product feature teams, strategic planning teams, as well as other internal leadership teams to ensure consistency and innovation in the user experience. This role is responsible for ensuring that product areas are implemented as a coherent part of the Tableau platform and an exceptional user experience, balancing simplicity and power across a constantly expanding set of capabilities.Responsibilities:Develop UI mock-ups, storyboards, flow diagrams, conceptual diagrams, wireframes, visual mockups, and interactive prototypesCreating prototypes or click-throughs that captures key flow through interactive user experiencesCollaborate with executives, managers, and peers to refine designsResearch, develop, and persuade business/design cases for product features and user experiencesPartner with other feature team members and Dev leadership in the design processParticipate in design critique and iteration of team members within developmentCoordinating work of multiple designers across a broad slice of the productMentor and develop user experience designers throughout the Design organizationCreate and carry out 2-3 year design vision work for a significant area of the productEnsure the product vision supports customers and their business goalsExperience / Skills Required:A strong portfolio of shipping software productsKnowledge of a significant portion of Tableau’s product line and business strategyFluency in best practices for information architecture and designStrong knowledge of usability and design principles and techniquesProficiency in a variety of design tools like Figma, Sketch, Illustrator, Axure, etcExcellent real-time collaboration across multiple geographies as demonstrated through discussion, presentation, and interpersonal skillsExcellent asynchronous collaboration as demonstrated through design documentation like click-throughs, wireframes, and specificationsExcellent design mentorship and critique skillsEducation/Experience:Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in human-computer interaction (HCI), or equivalent professional experience5 or more years’ experience doing software user experience design, including a leadership role in the design of a system of software or sitesExperience working in a collaborative team and working directly with developers for implementation of designsBonus:Experience with Tableau, PowerBi, Microstrategy or any domain expertise in data preparation and visual analyticsExperience with CRM or enterprise softwarePlease submit your resume and URLs to your portfolio.
