Summary

The Marketing Manager is responsible for planning and implementing various Marketing promotions, advertising elements and activities to fulfill the goal of broadening the base and strengthening the brand. Responsibilities will be focused on activities that build the fan base, generate ticket sales, activate marketing partnerships, drive viewership/listenership of broadcasts and enhance merchandise sales.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Operates as the liaison between Marketing team and the Corporate Sales, Digital and Ticketing Departments for marketing needs and promotional items.Manages the updating and maintenance of the official website of the Columbus Blue Jackets.Assists the Marketing Director in the development and implementation of marketing and promotional plans to engage college students with the brand and help drive ticket sales.Utilizes project manager platforms to schedule paid social media posts and track analytics.Assists the Marketing Director in the development of marketing communication plans including strategy, goals and tactics for all ticket offers, special events and theme nights.Serves as the project manager for Blue Jackets branded premium items, which includes obtaining price quotes, compiling the necessary logos and artwork, and assisting with the timely delivery of items.Collaboratively works with the Marketing Project Coordinator on the distribution of content and advertising across multiple platforms including but not limited to broadcast, print, digital and in-arena.Assists the Director of Marketing in the communication and coordination of marketing promotional efforts with external partners including City of Columbus, Arena District partners, Chiller Ice Rinks.Manages the coordination of the Game Day Elements Calendar and assists the Sr. Coordinator of Fan Engagement on the execution of the calendar.Works collaboratively with the Sr. Coordinator of Fan Engagement on promotional plans and execution of special events including but not limited to theme nights, holiday games and special events.Oversees the hiring and management of Marketing Interns.Assists the Director of Marketing with planning, coordination and execution of special events including but not limited to Hockey for Her, 5th Line 5k, Hockey is Back and Consumer Clubs.Assists the Director of Marketing in planning, coordination and execution of strategic partnerships including but not limited to the Cleveland Monsters and Ticket Package Partners.Works collaboratively with the Director of Marketing and the Business Intelligence Department to further strategic endeavors and lead generation capabilities.Works collaboratively within the organization to promote the brand while aligning with the organization's message and image.Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays and CBJ home games.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Directly supervises the Marketing Project Coordinator and interns. Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university in marketing, business, or sports management; and minimum of 5 years of related experience and/or training in marketing, corporate partnerships, event management, sales, advertising, or broadcast media; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient in Microsoft Office Software and Deltatre/Forge.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
