Position Description:RapidFire Safety & Security is seeking a Fire Alarm System Designer responsible for designing fire alarm systems in accordance with NFPA codes and project specifications. This position is a remote work position that requires an employee with an exceptional work ethic and communication skills.Position Activities:

Using AutoCAD software to develop fire alarm floor plan designs, riser diagrams, schematics, wiring and installation details, and system calculations.Create electronic product submittals using PDF software tools.Utilizing Microsoft Teams as a working environment to complete all tasks and related design functions. Routinely work with designers, drafters, sales professionals, and project managers to ensure the most efficient design while maintaining the highest quality standards.Utilizing Microsoft OneNote to keep a daily Engineering Log, documenting project status and scheduling in real-time.Review all designs before submitting for approval to ensure they meet Rapid’s quality standards and code requirements.Minimum Requirements:

High School Diploma, College Coursework in Engineering preferred.At least five years of experience designing commercial fire detection systems.Minimum NICET III certification in Fire Alarm.Expert in using AutoCAD for fire alarm design work.Experience working in a remote location.Access to high-speed internet and a dedicated workspace.Strong time management and organizational skills, with proven ability to handle multiple tasks.Proactive and focused on specified tasks, deadline-oriented, and able to complete assignments in a timely manner.Ability to follow standardized systems.
