As the Design Sales Consultant, you will provide interior design and product selection advice, product expertise, and thorough follow-up to facilitate customer experience and influence sales/purchasing decisions. You will use the showroom as a selling tool to drive specifications and sales as well as brand awareness.Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $66,560 and $71,500 + Quarterly Incentive* per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the compensation package, which may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, and other company-sponsored benefit programs.Primary Objective Provide interior design and product selection advice, product expertise, and thorough follow-up to facilitate customer experience and influence sales/purchasing decisions.Major Function and Scope

Provide interior design advice and product expertise, facilitate tile and stone selection, and support project development ensuring the completion of selection/sales for all customers.Log all client showroom visits, contact information, and detailed customer preference and selection notes in CMT.Effectively communicate with customers and internal team members to follow leads and ensure tracking/follow-up and sales closure.Prospect for new business with an emphasis on Custom Builders and Residential Designers.Make outside sales calls as needed and follow up on leads to grow and drive business.Maintain showroom samples and merchandising including ordering, receiving, and maintaining samples and displays.Plan and host showroom tours and events for industry trade to drive customer sales.Experience and Knowledge Required

Four-year degree in related field, or four years related experience or a combination of a two-year degree with two years of related experience.Design, sketching, reading blueprints, color coordination, interior design trends, customer buying habits, and creative thinking.Computer skills – MS Office, MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint – Customer management tools a plus.Excellent oral, written, listening, and interpersonal communication skills necessary to effectively interact with customers and team members.Other Pertinent Job Information While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to stand, use hands, and reach with hands and arms.
