DIRECTOR OF MARKETING AND COMMUNICATIONSChicago Waldorf School is seeking a Director of Marketing and Communications to join our team beginning as soon as possible. The position is full-time in-person, however those looking for a part-time option (approximately 30 hours per week) are also encouraged to apply.The Director of Marketing and Communications is a key member of the senior administrative team, reporting directly to the Administrative Director (co-Head of School). Their primary role is to develop, manage, and/or execute all aspects of the school’s marketing and communications plan.Specific responsibilities include:Develop and implement marketing plans and campaigns to promote the organization’s mission, programs, and events, and to increase brand visibility.Work with Enrollment Director to focus marketing plans on targeted enrollment growth.Work with / supervise Communication Manager to plan and develop content for website, social media, and email.Partner with Leadership Team, Staff, Board, and Faculty to best articulate and promote brand.Define and establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of marketing strategies and initiatives.Collect, analyze, and interpret marketing data to gain insights and identify trends.Translate data insights into compelling stories and actionable strategies that inform decision-making and drive marketing initiatives.Oversee Communication Manager on design of marketing materials including brochures, flyers, and signage.Manage annual marketing budget.Develop and manage school’s advertising plan.Serve on Senior Leadership Team contributing to overall direction of school.Act as publicist for school, including fielding media inquiries and looking for media opportunities.Other duties as assigned by the Administrative Director.The ideal candidate will have:A relevant degree.Marketing experience in a school or non-profit at a leadership level.Experience with marketing/analytics programs such as Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud/Suite, Salesforce, Google Ads, or Analytics.An ability to tell the school’s story in the Chicago marketplace.High-level collaboration skills to work together with fellow admin, faculty, board members, and parents.Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with an ability to proactively see and solve issues.Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.Excellent organizational and project management skills.An ability to both think big picture and be highly detail-oriented.An eagerness to collaborate with school leadership to create short and long-term marketing plans.The ability to take ownership of a project and run with it while also collaborating.A commitment to becoming a part of the CWS community.Creativity.A willingness to pick up a piece of trash dropped on the floor, regardless of position or title.Salary/benefits:Salary range begins at $70,000 annually and is commensurate with experience.All full-time employees receive a full menu of benefits including medical, dental, and vision.All full-time employees (80% and higher) receive full tuition remission for their children attending CWS.Admin staff received paid time off for school holidays/vacations, and a reduced summer schedule.Chicago Waldorf School’s mission is to provide a diverse Pre-K-12th grade education that supports the development of self-directed young adults dedicated to the pursuit of ongoing learning and eager to contribute positively to the global society of the 21st century.
