Nature Health , a new journal that will launch in January 2026.Nature Health

will be an interdisciplinary journal championing health and wellbeing research at a population level, focused on protection and promotion of health, and disease prevention. The journal will have a strong focus on strengthening Springer Nature's commitment to the UN Sustainable Development Goals aimed at improving global and public health, and towards addressing health inequities.Nature Health 's mission is to connect researchers, healthcare professionals, innovators, policy makers, and the public, by identifying and publishing the best evidence to promote better healthThe range of topics and disciplines to be covered includes (but is not limited to): public health, global health, health systems, health disparities, health environments, health delivery, health innovations, health economics, nutritional health, social determinants of health, epidemiology and population-level interventions.To help realize this vision, we require an ambitious and dynamic Chief Editor, who will develop, launch and establish

as the leading publication covering all of these aspects of health research.The successful applicant will lead an editorial team, and work closely with them on all aspects of the editorial process, including manuscript selection, commissioning and editing of Reviews and News & Views, and writing for the journal. A key aspect of the job will involve liaising with the scientific community through laboratory visits and international conferences - willingness to travel is essential.Working within a dynamic editorial and publishing environment that also includes

The successful candidate will be inventive and outgoing, and have excellent interpersonal skills. Broad scientific knowledge and training, excellent literary skills and the ability to absorb new areas of research are prerequisites.Applicants must have: a PhD, MD or similar degree with substantial research experience, preferable working in a variety of health settings. Previous editorial and/or managerial experience is an advantage but not required.
