This is a rare opportunity to join Hawaii’s #1 Station KHON2 in a high-profile critical role. The ideal candidate must have strong public speaking skills, knowledge of Hawaii traffic patterns and local street names, and experience working on-camera. Must be fully engaged and tech savvy to analyze traffic data and share important information with drivers on all platforms. Exceptional social media skills required. Knowledge of W.S.I. traffic systems a plus. Shooting and editing skills also a plus. Bachelor’s degree or related experience required.

Do you have the right skills and experience for this role Read on to find out, and make your application.The MORNING TRAFFIC REPORTER collects, analyzes and presents traffic information and shares other newsworthy events on all platforms:Dedicated Traffic Reporter and Morning HostUtilizes traffic system to analyze data and present information to viewers in clear concise mannerProvides additional resources for Viewers to get traffic information utilizing social media and station websiteAs needed, additional News Reports for broadcast, describing the background and details of eventsEnsures that all content meets company standards for journalistic integrity and production qualityWrites stories for the web and other eMedia platformsInteracts with viewers/users on social media sitesPerforms special projects and other duties as assignedRequirements & Skills:Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experienceFluency in EnglishExcellent communication skills, both oral and written.Superior on-air presenceProficiency with computers, telephones, copiers, scanners, fax machines and other office equipmentAbility to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneouslyValid driver’s license with a good driving recordFlexibility to work any shiftCompensation: $21+/hr commensurate with experience and skill level#LI-Onsite
