The following information aims to provide potential candidates with a better understanding of the requirements for this role.DescriptionThe Technical Visualization Designer at Oklo is responsible for conveying complex technical concepts through a variety of visual media, including physical displays, models, digital graphics, and multimedia content. This position will collaborate closely with the engineering, business development, and marketing teams to create architectural and technical models, product displays, and technology demonstration pieces. The designer will also produce digital media such as infographics, technical renders, product animations, and CAD models and drawings. This role is crucial in ensuring that both internal and external audiences understand the intricate details of Oklo’s products and technologies.ResponsibilitiesModel and display creationBuild product models and displays using 3D printing, machined parts, architectural models, and other materials to accurately represent Oklo’s products and technologiesAssist in designing and fabricate mechanical prototypes to support engineering and product developmentDigital media productionCreate clear and informative CAD renders, infographics, and technical presentations that simplify complex engineering and regulatory concepts and dataProduce high-quality technical renders and product animations to support marketing and educational effortsWork with the marketing team to develop and maintain the company’s branding identity, ensuring consistency across all visual materialsEvent coordination and display designCoordinate and design event displays for customers, investors, regulators, and the Oklo team, ensuring that complex technical information is accessible and engagingAssist in the planning and execution of events, focusing on the visual and experiential aspectsTechnical CollaborationCollaborate with the engineering team to gain a deep understanding of the technical components and physics behind our systems, ensuring accurate and effective visual representationsSupport the business development and government affairs team in explaining complex technical concepts to external stakeholders through visual aidsExperience level : Entry level (0-2yrs) Intermediate (2-5 yrs) or Experienced (5-10 yrs)Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree or higher in industrial design, engineering, architecture, graphic design, or a related technical disciplineExperience with 3D printing (FDM or SLA) and building models or displaysProficiency in a CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, NX, OnShape)Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or similar design softwareBonus Qualifications:Professional experience in product design, graphic design, prototyping, or similarExperience with rendering software (e.g., KeyShot, Blender)Experience with video editing and animation software (e.g., After Effects, Premiere Pro)Metal or wood shop experience (e.g., welding, machining, woodworking)We are looking for a Technical Visualization Designer that is:Passionate about clean energyPassionate about making advanced fission a realityWilling and able to learn quicklyEager to work on a dynamic team, receive constructive feedback, and grow with usWilling to think differently and do things in new waysComfortable in a fast-paced, highly iterative startup environmentDetail orientedAn excellent writer who can write in active voice (so make your cover letter compelling and write it well!)Who you are:A startup person : You aren't driven by titles or hierarchy, and prefer efficiency to excess process.
