SUMMARY: U.S. Travel Association is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Manager, Executive Communications to collaborate closely with executives to craft and refine speeches, presentations and talking points tailored to unique messaging preferences. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional writing and editing skills, adept at gathering relevant data and anecdotes to enhance the credibility and impact of executive communications. With a keen eye for detail and a proactive mindset, the position will ensure consistency in messaging and branding across all materials, staying updated on industry trends and best practices to continually refine and improve crafted materials. This role requires strong communication and interpersonal abilities, along with the agility to work within tight deadlines and adapt quickly to changes in priorities, fostering a cohesive working relationship across all levels of the organization.RESPONSIBILITIES:

Craft and meticulously edit speeches, presentations and talking points tailored to the specific needs and preferences of executives.Collaborate closely with executives to understand their vision, tone and messaging requirements for each communication piece.Collaborate with the president’s office to complete background and prep calls for speaking engagements and provide technical support for speaking engagements.Manage messaging, scripts and presentations for executive level speeches and presentations for all external U.S. Travel speakers, including but not limited to talking points and briefing/background documents.Gather relevant data, anecdotes and examples to enhance the credibility and impact of executive speeches and presentations.Work frequently with U.S. Travel’s research team to ensure the most up-to-date data points are utilized in talking points and on slides for internal and external engagements.Ensure consistency in messaging and branding across all executive communication materials.Stay updated on industry trends, current events and best practices in public speaking and executive communication to continually refine and improve crafted materials.Assist with the development of association and industry resources pertaining to association’s advocacy efforts, research findings and membership collateral, including but not limited to fact sheets, reports, guides and other materials.Code emails as needed in Dreamweaver and manage the approval and final send process in MagnetMail, U.S. Travel’s email marketing system.Provide support in the form of talking points, run of show drafting and management, and technical support for U.S. Travel webinars and virtual meetings.Manage officewide copywriting style guides for U.S. Travel Association and U.S. Travel signature events.Help manage on-message scripts and run of shows for U.S. Travel signature events, including but not limited to: Destination Capitol Hill, IPW and U.S. Travel Board Meetings.Liaise across departments, including but not limited to broader public affairs team, meetings and events, membership and marketing to ensure cross-office collaboration and consistency with all communications materials.ATTRIBUTES:

Collaborate closely with executive leadership, demonstrating exceptional communication skills to effectively convey ideas, updates and strategic initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and fostering a cohesive working relationship across all levels of the company.Exceptional writing and editing skills, with a keen eye for detail and a knack for crafting compelling and persuasive content.Agility to work within tight deadlines, adjust quickly to changes in priorities and balance short-term deliverables with long-term strategic initiatives.Strong communication and interpersonal abilities, capable of effectively collaborating with executives and cross-functional teams.Proven research capabilities, including the ability to gather, analyze and distill information from various sources to support executive messaging.Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the capacity to prioritize tasks and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Excellent writing skills and the ability to craft messages that reflect various author tones and styles, and that resonate with a range of audiences.Demonstrated discretion and professionalism when handling confidential or sensitive information.Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, coupled with the ability to provide valuable insights and recommendations for enhancing executive communication strategies.Ability to learn new topics quickly and transform complex information into easily understandable terms.Enthusiasm, a drive to succeed; problem-solver, creative thinker, team player are all must-have attributes.Highly communicative; must possess a positive and proactive attitude with ability to take constructive feedback and input from multiple stakeholders.Self-initiated with a strong work ethic.A proactive and adaptable mindset, with a willingness to learn and stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in executive communication.QUALIFICATIONS:

Undergraduate communications-related degree required with 3-5 years of advanced experience in a political association, public affairs, think tank or journalism setting.Knowledge, experience and understanding of the travel and trade association industry is preferred.Demonstrated ability to quickly distill complex policy and travel industry issues into succinct, persuasive copy across an array of formats.Flawless proofreading skills and a superior command of AP style.Proficient in HTML (experience with Dreamweaver a plus); Mastery of Microsoft Office products, especially Word and PowerPoint.Adobe Creative Suite experience a plus.Strong working knowledge of the U.S. political process.A background in the travel industry or travel-related issues a plus.OTHER:

Position based in Washington, DC.
