The Audio-Visual Associate will report to Hoover's Audio-Video Specialist (AVS).Under the AVS's direction, and in collaboration with Hoover's Events and Planning team, the Audio-Visual Associate will be responsible for the successful setup and execution of audio-visual for meetings and events.The Audio-Video Associate will also assist the AVS in the ongoing troubleshooting and maintenance of all audio-video systems and equipment at Hoover.CORE DUTIES:(Must maintain 70/30 ratio (keep/change) to comply with Stanford)Collaborate with clients to plan productions and operate A/V equipment (e.g., soundboard, presentation laptop, switcher, codec, camera, etc.) in support of live and hybrid events, either solo or as part of a larger production teamDiagnose and resolve digital media system problems. May also perform various hardware, software, peripheral, and networking technical assistance; conduct regular AV system performance tests, troubleshooting or escalating issues as appropriate.Research, recommend, and implement hardware and software configurations to meet client needs and to help ensure compatibility with university systems and architecture.Set up, operate and troubleshoot on a variety of equipment including but not limited to; video cameras, video projection, video conferencing, still photography, digitalization, analog and digital audio recordingMaintain and ensure proper operation of all equipment and perform repairs and cleaning of digital media equipment.May manage logistics, video shooting, editing and tape duplication.May act as liaison with vendors ensuring scheduling, costs and requirements are met.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:Education & Experience:Bachelor's degree and two years of relevant experience or combination of education and relevant experience.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: (CANNOT EDIT)Demonstrated technical experience using digital media equipment, video creation, editing software, and/or digital media control software.Knowledge in production techniques including videography, compression and file delivery.Experience with live streaming events.Knowledge of camera, lighting, sound and editingUnderstanding of online video environment and online distribution.Ability to adapt equipment setup and provide alternative setup or workarounds if necessary.Good interpersonal skills, judgment, and diplomacy required to interact effectively with and provide customer service to a broad audience.Ability to work independently as well as effectively in a collaborative team environment.Effective time management skills.Preferred/Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Demonstrated ability to adapt to and learn new technologies.Demonstrated success in following through on routine tasks under minimal supervision.Ability to effectively interact with a wide variety of people in a diverse workplace.Experience in sound reinforcement and live production for events.Experience with Yamaha, QSC, BiAmp, Panasonic, Sony, Blackmagic, Crestron, Extronm, and Atlona products.Network troubleshooting experience.Familiar with Google Drive, SmartSheet, and working knowledge of Microsoft products.Experience working on multiple projects concurrently.Certifications and Licenses:NonePHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Constantly perform desk-based computer tasks.Frequently sitting.Occasionally stand/walk, reach/work above shoulders, grasp lightly/fine manipulation, grasp forcefully, use a telephone, sort/file paperwork or parts, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 10 pounds.Rarely twist/bend/stoop/squat, kneel/crawl.WORKING CONDITIONS:Occasionally work on weekends, evenings, holidays, and flexible shifts.May have exposure to high voltage electricity, noise > 80dB TWA, confined spaces, and working at heights above 10 feet.WORK STANDARDS:Interpersonal Skills: Demonstrates the ability to work well with Stanford colleagues and clients as well as with external organizations.Promote Culture of Safety: Demonstrates commitment to personal responsibility and value for safety; communicates safety concerns; uses and promotes safe behaviors based on training and lessons learned.Subject to and expected to comply with all applicable University policies and procedures, including but not limited to the personnel policies and other policies found in the University's Administrative Guide, http://adminguide.stanford.edu .The expected pay range for this position is $66,560 - $86,000 per annum.Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for a position.
