$120,000.00 — $140,000.00 per year .The Lead Broadcast Engineer - Infrastructure will be the primary owner of Pac-12 Studios technology and operations associated with delivering live broadcast productions. This role will supervise the Broadcast Engineers, Events, as well as other staff, freelancers, vendors, and customers to ensure that hundreds of high-quality live events are successfully produced and delivered to distribution partners. The person in this role must be a strong people manager, collaborative, and a clear communicator with a determination to solve real-time issues and develop long-range technology plans. This role is based in San Ramon, California.Experience

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:*Lead the planning and execution of broadcast technology deployment and maintenance in the facility and field.Oversee all broadcast engineering functions including functions related to but not limited to infrastructure, live events, etc.*Directly perform broadcast engineering support duties for assigned live broadcasts as first-line support for Production and Transmission teams.*Participate in the management of broadcast engineering budgets, capital planning, expense tracking, purchasing, and vendor relationships, seeking opportunities for cost savings when it makes sense while maximizing our commitment to quality.*Provision and maintain physical equipment for the facility and field, including case assembly, racking, cabling, electrical, etc.*Define, document, and help implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) and best practices.*Availability to participate, respond to, and manage 24x7 responses to emergency needs.*Develop and manage a team of Broadcast Engineers, freelancers, vendors, and other staff to ensure that events are produced at high-quality and delivered successfully to commercial clients and distribution partners. Including but not limited to setting work schedules for Broadcast Engineers.*Other duties as assigned by management.*Limited travel as required.Qualifications:*Minimum of five years experience within an engineering or broadcast maintenance organization.*In-depth knowledge and experience in IP technology or principles and broadcast technologies design and support, specifically for At-Home (REMI) production models.*Experience with the following technologies:*Hardware and Cloud-based CODECs (Nevion, Evertz, Haivision, AWS/Elemental, etc) using J2K, H.264, HEVC, HLS,RTMP, RTP-FEC, SRT, RIST, ZIXI*Management and troubleshooting production control room and studio infrastructure: video routing, switchers, audio consoles, intercom, graphics, MAM, etc*Setup and configuration of file-based workflow systems*Basic networking skills: router & switch config, traceroute, ping, nmap, etc.*Basic Linux and Windows server administration*Exposure to key AWS services (S3, EC2, Cloudfront, etc)*Google apps (Gmail, Google Docs, Google Calendar, etc.)*Project management tools such as Jira*Good relationship management and negotiation skills.*Strong verbal and written communication skills.*Ability to be on-call 24 hours to provide support for escalated issues.*Ability to lift and move Audio/Visual equipment weighing up to 50 pounds for various broadcast and events needs.*Bachelor's degree in computer science, broadcast, or related field preferred.*Knowledgeable and passionate about sports.We have partnered with ProductionHUB to provide you with the most valuable and exclusive job service in the industry.
