Position Summary
This position will be responsible for creating an editorial mission, vison, voice and strategies that align with brand and business goals, resulting in powerful and effective storytelling that engages existing and draws in new fans, ultimately supporting revenue streams. This position will have a team of creators that feed social media, in-arena, and broadcast content, establishing consistent narratives and style but customized for each medium.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
: includes but not limited to:
Develop comprehensive strategic content plan across all mediums (social media, website, in-game, broadcast) in support of the overarching brand strategy, also ensuring that all brand standards and guidelines are adhered to.Oversee the development of content that includes but is not limited to: video (long/short form), photography, vlogs, podcasts, written (long/short form), infographics, graphics, data visualization, PowerPoint templates and any new method of content. Ensure that the content on each platform is appropriate and connecting with the audience on it.Work with corporate sales to develop content franchise ideas that can be pitched and sold to potential marketing partners.Ensure brand identity is consistent across all expressions of the brand: social & digital media, event presentation, ticket and partnership presentations and collateral, event material and advertising materials.Test and learn, then analyze data for viewing, engagement and sales optimization.Develop executive summaries informed by measurement tools to track content performance and adjust tactics as needed.Ensure clear processes are in place for staff efficiencies and meeting of deadlines.Collaborate with other departments and with Mohegan Sun marketing and content to share vision and create better stories.Ensure event presentation is entertaining and engaging for all fans and executed flawlesslyCreate an environment that is open to creative flow, inspiring, and results in frequent ideation and brainstorming sessions in person or on sharing tools
Secondary Duties And Responsibilities
Stay informed on content trends and emerging platformsStay informed of new equipment and technology, in addition to new shooting and creative techniques for development of engaging content in and out of the arenaConstant engagement with popular culture to determine how the CT Sun can participate
Competencies: Incumbent will master the following competencies while in this position:
Knowledge of Mohegan Sun corporate and department policies and proceduresEffective utilization of Mohegan Sun Evaluation programsThorough understanding of the Mohegan Tribal Employment Rights Ordinance (TERO) as it relates to employment
Training Requirements
Understanding of music licensing and legal complianceExcellent knowledge of Time & Attendance system and Manager Self Service systemsKnowledge of Mohegan Sun budget planning and analysis process and proceduresMohegan Sun CER and purchasing procedures
Physical Demands And Work Environment
Office work environmentOvernight travel may be requiredMust be able to work various shifts and flexible hours

Minimum Education And Qualifications
Bachelors’ Degree in communications, graphic design, the arts or another related field8+ years of experience in content, production, publishing, or sports/entertainment related roles; digital and/or traditional media background preferred.Must understand each job on a production set, the differences and the specific needs pertaining to pacific shoots such as Gaffers / G&E's / Grips / PA's / Set DesignersMust be able to understand equipment needed for each shoot to rentExperience working with design, VFX and production teamsStrong critical thinking and analysis capabilities.A creative eye with strong judgment on what will be appreciated by fans and the ability to take mundane, dry content and make it fun and engagingExceptional leadership and culture-building capabilitiesStrong, clear communication skills; ability to present at all levelsSharp attention to detail and ability to meet deadlinesExcellent organizational and multi-tasking skillsExcellent problem-solving skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsProficient in Word, Excel and OutlookIn lieu of a Degree and previously mentioned experience, 15 years of experience in content/production
