Nerdy is searching for a dynamic and driven Vice President, Institutional Marketing to join our Varsity Tutors for Schools team. The person in this critical senior leadership role will be responsible for leading our Institutional Marketing team, initially focused on the K-12 market and eventual expansion and growth into adjacent education and B2B markets. This role will be an instrumental part of expanding Varsity Tutors’ institutional business and will help us drive partnership opportunities with schools and districts across the country. We are looking for someone with experience in the creation of engaging marketing content, messaging, and campaigns at national, state, and regional levels. We need someone with experience in demand generation, building and deploying outreach tools, driving leads, and tracking ROI via a CRM. The Vice President, Institutional Marketing needs to be well-versed in B2B enterprise marketing processes, best practices, and tools/technologies that will help develop and scale our Go-To-Market strategy for our Varsity Tutors for Schools business. This individual will use a process-driven approach to drive organic growth of the business and will be adaptive to developing new procurement strategies in the K-12 market. This person will also work closely with our institutional sales team and create engaging marketing assets that drive revenue growth for the business.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Team Management:

Lead, mentor, and develop the Institutional Marketing team to achieve departmental and company goals.

Foster a high-performance culture focused on delivering measurable results.

Manage, develop, and drive the accountability and success of the team.

Strategic Marketing:

Develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies at national, state, and regional levels to drive demand generation and lead acquisition.

Create engaging marketing content, messaging, and campaigns tailored to the K-12 institutional market.

Drive the development and deployment of outreach tools and marketing assets that support lead generation and revenue growth.

Develop and manage marketing campaigns targeted to national and local regions as well as target district influencers, including lead generation, brand awareness, and customer advocacy.

Work effectively with sales to develop and scale our Go-To-Market (GTM) strategy and campaigns to drive revenue and support product launches.

Manage the development of sales tools and training that support the selling process of our products and services.

Demand Generation & ROI Tracking:

Oversee demand generation initiatives and track their effectiveness using CRM tools.

Accurately track ROI of all marketing-related activities, communication, and opportunity tracking in CRM.

Analyze and report on campaign performance, ensuring strategies are optimized for maximum ROI.

Collaborate with the sales team to align marketing efforts with sales objectives and track the direct correlation between marketing activities and revenue generation.

Market Expansion & Go-To-Market Strategy:

Lead the Go-To-Market strategy for the Varsity Tutors for Schools business.

Utilize B2B enterprise marketing best practices and tools to scale marketing efforts.

Develop and implement new procurement strategies to adapt to the evolving K-12 market landscape.

Partner with the product organization to develop product messaging, website content, and sales collateral to effectively communicate the Varsity Tutors products and value proposition within the K-12 space.

Monitor Varsity Tutors' long-term product roadmap and plan future messaging and marketing collateral.

Collaboration & Cross-Functional Engagement:

Work closely with the institutional sales team to create marketing assets that drive revenue growth.

Engage with cross-functional teams to ensure marketing strategies are aligned with overall business goals and objectives.

Join sales and customer service reps for client meetings to develop an understanding of the needs and “the voice” of our customers.

Lead and support the creation of Varsity Tutors sales proposals, presentations, research studies, white papers, and marketing collateral.

Drive market and customer research collection, analysis, and interpretation of data for short- and long-term market forecasts and reports.

Lead customer advocacy activities in the field, including identifying power users and partnering with them to share the Varsity Tutors story (build reference account list).

Organize and prioritize both national and regional conferences with effective messaging and ROI.

Construct virtual marketing events and drive the correct Varsity Tutors targeted audience to attend these virtual events.

Get speaking/panel slots for Varsity Tutors leadership at conferences (virtual or on-site).

Partner with the Varsity Tutors PR team to help drive press and social media reach for the K-12 division.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field required. Master’s degree preferred.

Minimum of 15 years of B2B demand generation and CRM marketing leadership experience with a successful track record of consistently exceeding business goals.

Proven track record of developing and executing successful marketing strategies that drive lead generation and revenue growth.

Strong leadership qualities with experience in creating effective marketing functions and driving the accountability and success of the team.

Extensive experience and proficiency in marketing technology-based products and solutions.

Strong understanding of CRM tools, marketing automation, and analytics platforms.

Experience in the K-12 education sector is highly desirable.

Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to think strategically while being hands-on in execution.

Proficiency in using sales enablement tools, Google Suite, web-based presentation tools, and video conference tools.

Strong messaging and storytelling skills that resonate with educators and highlight the different points along the customer journey.

Proven experience and history using marketing/lead generation tools that integrate with our CRM and can effectively target K-12 school districts.

Excellent verbal and written skills with the ability to articulate the value propositions of Varsity Tutors to different audiences and in a variety of formats.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Strong customer relations skills and high emotional intelligence.
