Amazon seeks a strong Sr. Business Analyst to join the Ads Financial Planning & Analysis team. In partnership with stakeholders in Finance, Legal, Accounting, and the Ads business, this role will support requests for financial reporting and analysis in the context of legal and regulatory work. This role will need to have deep understanding of regulatory asks and Ads internal data, also be responsible in writing data queries and creating reporting while maintaining high standards across Ads for data quality, validations, approvals, and narratives. Eventually, these efforts will lead to a knowledgebase and framework that produce consistent and high-quality data and analysis for all regulatory inquires. This individual will drive process and technology improvements as their expertise in this space matures.

Candidates should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, have experience with large data set and systems, and be able to turn sometimes ambiguous requests into a clear plan of action that the candidate implements. This role will require the ability to understand and clearly explain complex data as the candidate will need to succinctly communicate technical details, decisions, and rationales in writing for leadership. Candidates should have a strong independent initiative, and the ability to deliver high quality work without a lot of oversight. Key job responsibilities

• Overseeing that the process for responding to Ads Finance legal requests and ensuring that the final work product meet Amazon’s exceptionally high standards.

• Developing a deep knowledge of nuanced Ads data sources, and the ability to effectively query them based on the nature and context of the request.

• Partnering with stakeholders in Finance, Legal, Accounting, and the Ads business, on requests from Legal that include financial data, with responsibility to help identify stakeholders, broker conversations on data options, drive alignment on approach, and document the final work product.

• Building reporting and other data mechanisms to streamline requests.

• Successfully articulating and then advocating for targeted process and technology recommendations that operate effectively at scale and solve for efficiency, controllership, and/or quality objectives for this work.

About the team

The Ads business is growing rapidly and complex. Ads FP&A finance team plays a pivotal role in connecting the various Advertising Product Finance teams, Amazon Advertising and other Amazon businesses, driving insights and process improvement.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, engineering , analytics, mathematics, statistics or a related technical or quantitative field

3+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience

2+ years of Excel (including VBA, pivot tables, array functions, power pivots, etc.) and data visualization tools such as Tableau experience

Experience defining requirements and using data and metrics to draw business insights

Experience with Excel

Experience with SQL

Experience making business recommendations and influencing stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working on legal and regulatory inquiries

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $66,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $143,100/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
