Our Global Data Insight & Analytics Team is a team of passionate technologists with broad experience in Cloud and distributed systems, Micro-services, APIs, and Machine Learning. We think in terms of scale and architecture. Our Engineers are involved in all aspects of the product life cycle, from conceptual design, development, and deployment, to DevOps. We spend most of our time in writing code and validation. We love agile, extreme programming, test-driven development, continuous integration, and continuous deployment.

GDI&A Tech is looking for a Software Engineer/Technical Anchor for the Product Engineering and Management GDIA team to support Feature Analytics Data Product lines in the software development of high-priority products. You will be both a Software Technical Anchor and have a hands-on engineering keyboard role. Our teams strive for excellence within the PDO structure and agile methodologies

What you’ll do…

Work hands-on with the team and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality software products that meet our customer’s requirements and needs.

Delivered software products as a full-stack software engineer, using object-oriented software design and agile/iterative development using PDO methodologies.

Participate and contribute to designs and architecture discussions

Work with product owners and product managers to define the features

Strictly adopts Technology and Architecture standards leveraging cloud technologies such as GCP, AWS, Bigquery, and NOSQL Leverages logging tools such as Cloud Logging, Splunk, and Dynatrace to support DevOps and debug production issues

Follows software craftsmanship standards

Pair programs frequently to stay ahead of the code base/tech stack.

Coordinate architecture, and interoperability strategy.

Foster DevOps CI/CD infrastructure and an Automated Testing mentality and capability.

Champion continuous technical improvement for the platform and pursue tech debt opportunities.

Help Product Owners understand our iterative development approach and focus on delivering a Minimum Viable Product through careful and deliberate prioritization.

Grow technical capabilities/expertise and guide other members of the team

You'll Have…

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.

5+ years of Object-Oriented Development experience which includes applying expertise in building microservices architectures on JVM platform concepts with the following tools and technologies: Angular, Spring Platform (Spring MVC, Spring Boot, Spring JDBC, Spring Cloud) Automated Testing, Continuous Integration, Continuous Deployment, and technologies (Jenkins CI or similar)

1+ years of data pipelines and big data technologies, such as GCP Big Query, Databricks, Azure Data Lake, Spark, Hadoop, Kafka, SQL, and NO-SQL databases

2+ years of understanding, practicing, and advocating for clean code principles such as test-driven development (TDD/BDD), Pair Programming, Extreme Programming (XP), self-documenting code, continuous refactoring, and writing Unit, Integration, and Acceptance test cases

2+ years of experience with CA Agile Central (Rally) or Jira or similar Agile Tools

2+ years experience utilizing team leadership skills and managing a development team

3+ years of strong leadership and communication skills and the ability to teach others Hands-on experience with open-source technologies such as Kubernetes, Docker, and Kafka.

Even Better, You'll Have…

Advanced degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.

Proven expertise in using Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery tools and pipelines such as Rally, GIT hub, Jenkins, Maven, Gradle, etc.

Solid understanding of software development principles, including design patterns, software architecture, and testing methodologies.

Ability to deliver product roadmap achievements

Provide Agile artifacts associated with application components

Proven tackling and problem-solving skills to quickly identify and document the root cause of issues and optimally communicate possible resolutions

Ability to work collaboratively with others and navigate sophisticated decision-making

Ability to collaborate well with engineers, designers, and business partners

Skilled at defining and prioritizing product features

Strong written and verbal communication skills by collaborating with multi-functional teams to develop comprehensive product test plans, solve issues, etc. in a fast-paced, agile environment.

This position is a range of salary grades 5-8.
