THE POSITIONThe Surveyor's Office in the Department of Land Use and Transportation is recruiting for a Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Analyst. The GIS Analyst provides support to end-users of GIS within the Surveyor's Office which includes:Designing, managing, and maintaining enterprise geodatabase on SQL server and file geodatabasesDesigning and maintaining customized SQL server stored procedures, queries, and spatial views in ArcSDE serverManaging replication data sets between ArcSDE databasesDeveloping and maintaining web GIS applications with ESRI JavaScript API, ArcGIS Online, HTML, CSS, Web AppBuilderCoordinating IT to troubleshoot problems on servers, databases and GIS applicationsCustomizing GIS tools and applications to support managements, projects and group daily operationsCreating custom maps and reports for management and field crewsProviding technical support on GIS software; serve as a technical resource for other staff on difficult GIS database and application issuesProviding training to work groups using GIS applications and mappingParticipating in work and advisory groups to coordinate data use with other Washington County departments and external agenciesProviding technical support on SQL server database user permissions, Access frontend data entries and troubleshootingCoordinating with other GIS Analysts and information systems management to determine direction of GIS application development and implementation.Representing county GIS by attending ESRI, Metro and other local GIS group meetingsParticipating in forums and discussions with managers of information systems and other GIS Analysts to recommend computer software or hardware acquisitions. Provide initial assessment and troubleshooting on user software and hardware issues.This position may be eligible for a hybrid work schedule.Ideal CandidateThe ideal candidate will be a highly skilled and self-motivated GIS professional with experience supporting SQL/GIS databases and their applications. AND t hree (3) years of experience in geographic information systems design.Additional Requirements:
