You will work closely with project managers, engineers, and clients to create accurate and efficient fire sprinkler system designs that comply with industry codes and standards. This role offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects and make a meaningful impact on fire safety within various settings.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Proficiently handle the layout and design of fire sprinkler systems for multiple projects, ensuring strict adherence to all relevant codes, insurance requirements, and the contracted project scope. This includes creating permit drawings and performing hydraulic calculations while incorporating insights from architectural, mechanical, electrical, structural, and civil drawings.Undertake comprehensive site surveys to assess existing conditions and systems, facilitating informed design decisions.Initiate the necessary interactions with local authorities to acquire pertinent files and conduct fire flow testing, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.Demonstrate a deep understanding of commercial and industrial construction practices, integrating this knowledge into design solutions.Establish effective communication with the Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) to address requirements and rectify any potential discrepancies.Take charge of designing fire sprinkler systems for both new construction and tenant improvement projects, using the latest version of AutoCAD to produce well-organized and comprehensive drawings suitable for on-site installation.Skillfully perform hydraulic calculations when needed, ensuring that all submitted lists accurately reflect the installed systems.Prepare and share purchasing and fabrication lists with relevant departments promptly, maintaining the smooth flow of project execution.Be responsible for promptly incorporating any necessary plan adjustments to reflect changes made during fieldwork.Exhibit self-motivation and the ability to work independently on multiple projects concurrently, adapting to shifting priorities with agility and efficiency.Required Qualifications

High School Diploma or GEDMinimum of 2 years of experience with Fire Sprinkler Design Software (ie Revit, HydraCAD, or other relevant design software)Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Fire Sprinkler System Design, with a proven track record of successful project management and ability to read construction drawings (i.e, architectural, mechanical, electrical, structural, and civil drawings)Minimum of 2 years’ experience with AutoCADIn-depth knowledge of fire protection codes and standards, such as NFPA 13, NFPA 14, and NFPA 20Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate technical information to clients and team membersExceptional attention to detail and accuracy in design workStrong analytical and problem-solving skills to address design challenges effectivelyAbility to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environmentEffective time management skills to handle multiple projects simultaneouslyExperience with performing hydraulic analysisExperience with MS Office and industry search navigation abilityPreferred Qualifications

$25 - $36/hour depending on experience
