About The Team:

We are the Advertising Engineering group within Wayfair. We work with our supplier community creating end to end solutions that help increase their sales and exposure on Wayfair sites and apps through targeted ads and sponsorships. Not only are we generating millions in extra revenue for suppliers and solidifying Wayfair as a preferred partner, but we’ve built a significant business that’s one of the highest growth areas in the company. The Sponsored Products team enables Wayfair suppliers to highlight products they have available for sale on Wayfair sites by placing them in highly visible positions as customers browse through or search for products on Wayfair sites. We build highly available and highly scalable real-time software systems that determine which products to highlight to a particular customer. Using product and keyword targeting campaigns, we show the most relevant ads to the customer without sacrificing customer experience.

These products enable suppliers to target customers at the right price using an inhouse real time auction system.

Java, PHP, Spark, ElasticSearch, SOLR, Aerospike, Google Cloud Platform, BigQuery, Airflow, ReactJS

What You’ll Do:

Work in our Java applications to implement new capabilities and business features while optimizing performance.

Work with Product Managers and business partners to identify requirements

You’ll be participating in technical roadmaps, design, and implementation within a team of high performing engineers that will shape the future of Advertising in Wayfair.

Provide high-quality code reviews and contribute architectural designs.

What You’ll Need:

Experience as a full stack, full lifecycle software engineer and deep understanding of a modern programming language (such as Java, JavaScript, PHP, Python, C#, Scala, GO, or others)

Passion for leading a large, cross-cutting technical initiative to delivery, cross-functional consensus building and influencing design decisions

Ample experience gathering requirements from business stakeholders and deriving software requirements

Experience with large-scale distributed storage and database systems (SQL or NoSQL, e.g. MySQL, Cassandra)

Experience with Google Cloud Platform or AWS/Azure at scale

Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with engineers, product managers, and business stakeholders alike

Proficient in effective troubleshooting and issue resolution techniques

Candidates for this position should be based in the Mountainview. CA and will be expected to comply with their team's hybrid work schedule requirements.
