Scope of Job
Responsible for the development, organization, and implementation of athletic marketing and digital media programs and/or strategies as well as public relations efforts, while coordinating and managing athletic event operations and promotions.
Description of Duties
• Develops and implements athletic marketing and digital media strategies to increase engagement and drive attendance to events in alignment with University and department brand standards.
• Manages and supervises video production coordinator, external operations interns, and event staff.
• Responsible for development, coordination, and implementation of digital media content strategies for the department.
• Responsible for advising coaches and staff on the development and implementation of social media strategies and content production for sport specific social media accounts.
• Assists with the design efforts associated with the creation of promotional materials of assigned areas in coordination with University Marketing and Communications.
• Designs various promotional materials.
• Analyzes athletic market segments and conducts research to determine best method to reach target audiences.
• Assists with the development and implementation of public relations strategies for the department.
• Conceptualizing, creating and implementing creative multimedia content to use as promotional materials intended to highlight and meet the needs of coverage of 18 sport programs at the NCAA Division I level.
• Shooting assignments at athletic events in the areas of photo and video as needed.
• Collaborates with university and freelance creative professionals on the creation of multimedia content from inception to completion within set schedules and budgets.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the department director or direct supervisor.
Supervision Received
General supervision from assigned supervisor.
Supervision Given
Direct supervision of assigned support staff.
Required Education
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in Communications, Marketing or closely related area.

Required Experience
Two (2) years working in NCAA Division I Intercollegiate Athletics public relations and digital media programs.

Equipment
Use of standard office equipment, personal computer. Skills pertaining specifically to MS word, power point and excel. Use of public address system.
Working Conditions
Needs to be able to successfully perform all required duties. Indoor office environment. Constant weekend and/or evening activities; Occasional travel is required.
Other
• Knowledge of current digital media and public relations trends. Experience and knowledge with graphic design and video production for NCAA Athletics.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Photoshop, among other media platforms.
• Understand and adhere to all policies and procedures of the University, Conference and the NCAA . Assume complete responsibility to ensure that the student-athletes conduct themselves in an appropriate manner in accordance with NCAA policies.
• Understand that violation(s) of NCAA rules could result in sanctions being placed against the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics and the University.
• Attend regularly scheduled compliance meetings to maintain knowledge of current and recently established policies.
• Have familiarity and knowledge of NCAA Division I rules required as part of job duties.
• Ability to exhibit integrity with high ethical standards and strict adherence to NCAA , conference, university and departmental rules and regulations as well as solid commitment to academic integrity, student-athlete welfare, and any applicable NCAA standards.
