The role in a nutshell
Octaura is building out our tech team and we're looking for a Senior UI Developer interested in building high performance, next generation technology that will revolutionize the loans industry. This is an environment for those seeking to drive innovation and get charged up working with top engineering talent. We are looking for results-oriented developers who thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, and enjoy solving challenging and complex customer problems.
This is an exciting time for Octaura as we are rapidly growing and are looking for energetic, collaborative and driven thinkers to join us! Please note this role is based out of our NYC office and our current structure is 4 days in the office (Monday-Thursday), with flexibility on Fridays.
Core responsibilities
Work with a team of smart and passionate engineers to build and maintain our proprietary electronic trading platformUse modern tools and methods to expand the capabilities of our cloud-based applicationHelp to transition development of our platform to our in-house teamCollaborate with product teams to develop solutions for current and future customersDesired experience
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)Proven experience as a Senior UI Developer, Frontend Developer, or similar roleTypescriptVitest, React Testing Library, Jest or similarState management with Redux, Context API or similarRouting - React Router, Tanstack Router or similarStrong proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and JSONExperience with frontend frameworks such as React, React Native, and Chakra UI componentsFamiliarity with AG-Grid for complex UI data visualizationExperience in writing UI extensible frameworksGood knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git)Solid understanding of responsive design principlesFinancial services and startup experience preferred.Handling mission-critical high-level business outcomes and be able to independently scope, validate and translate them into technical solutions.Work directly with our Product Design team to improve user experience within the core productMaintain high technical standards within the frontend team (including code quality / code review / performance of the application).UI/UX design Ability to design a visually appealing and user-friendly interface for the core productsBasic knowledge of cloud-based solutions: (Ideally AWS, but open to GCP)The base pay range for this position in New York is $170,000 - $190,000 annually. Pay may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Equity and year-end bonus may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
