Overview:

Charity Navigator, the world's largest and most trusted nonprofit evaluator, is seeking a talented and creative Content Manager to join our dynamic marketing & communications team. As a Content Manager, you will play a crucial role in supporting a holistic content strategy and crafting compelling and impactful content for our donor and nonprofit audiences. Your primary responsibility will be to develop engaging written materials, video content, manage our social media presence, and handle intermediate-level graphic design.

Your work will directly contribute to increasing awareness of charitable organizations, promoting transparency in the nonprofit sector, and empowering donors to make informed giving decisions. Primary responsibilities include:

Content Creation:Develop high-quality, persuasive, and informative written content for various platforms, including blog posts, website articles, email campaigns, mobile messaging, social media posts, and thought leadership events.Research and gather data to create fact-based content that educates and informs our audiences about charitable organizations' impact and performance.Audit existing content to determine updates to improve the overall customer experience.Social Media Management:Manage our social media channels, including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, TikTok, and Instagram.Create and schedule engaging social media posts that align with Charity Navigator's brand voice and objectives.Monitor social media trends, engage with followers, and respond to inquiries and comments in a timely and professional manner.Graphic Design and Video Editing:Design eye-catching visuals, infographics, and social media assets to accompany written content and improve engagement.Create and edit videos that showcase the impact of charitable organizations and promote transparency in the nonprofit sector.Collaboration and Strong Execution:Provide input and feedback to the marketing and communication team's strategies and campaigns. Our small team thrives on collaboration!Collaborate with subject matter experts and data analysts to ensure content accuracy and relevance.Assist in developing and maintaining content calendars and project timelines.Customer Retention EffortsHelp the team analyze current journey maps and identify efforts to increase Customer RetentionAudiences include prospective donors, current donors, and nonprofit organizations. Work with the team to generate strong customer insights on which to base our communication efforts.What we look for:

Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field.Proven experience (3+ years) in content creation, writing, and editing for different platforms and audiences.Strong background in social media management and demonstrated success in growing an online community.Measurement focus with experience in the reporting of website traffic, conversion, and engagement.Proficiency in graphic design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite) and intermediate-level video editing skills (e.g., Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro).Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a keen eye for detail.Knowledge of SEO best practices and content optimization techniques.Understanding of nonprofit organizations, charitable giving, and the philanthropic landscape is a plus.Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.A passion for philanthropy, transparency, and making a positive impact in the nonprofit sector.Knowledge of search engine optimization (SEO) is a plus.Knowledge of agile methodology and project management tools (Jira, Confluence) is a plus.Location: This position is fully remote, with occasional travel required to the New York City metro area and the organizational headquarters in Saddle Brook, NJ.

Compensation and Benefits:

Salary Range: $60,000 - $75,000Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance (including coverage for your dependents)Life & Disability Insurance20 vacation days, 10 sick days, 11 paid holidays in your first yearRetirement savings with up to 3% match of base salaryFlexible spending and dependent care accounts
