Senior Grant WriterAre you passionate about making a difference through impactful grant writing? Join our team as a Senior Grant Writer and play a crucial role in securing funding to support our agency's mission. As a Senior Grant Writer, you will be responsible for crafting compelling proposals, conducting research, and collaborating with various stakeholders to support Friends of Youth's goal of empowering young people with the necessary tools to move from crisis and instability to safety, stability, and success.Duties:Study and comprehend the agency's history, objectives, services, and financial needs.Create compelling grant proposals with necessary supporting documents tailored to funding requirements.Manage competing deadlines and application due dates effectively.Participate in webinars and information sessions for prospective community and local government grants.Address internal and external inquiries regarding proposals.Serve as the expert on community and local government grants.Coordinate with Data Systems and Analytics and Program Services to ensure effective communication of contract outcome and tracking requirements.Assist the Manager of Grants with complex applications following RFP management SOP.Qualifications:Education and Experience:Bachelor’s degree in a human-service or business-related field preferred.Minimum of 3 years of grant writing or nonprofit development experience.Proficiency in working with government, foundation, or corporate contractFamiliarity with prospect research techniques and project management/donor tracking software like Raiser’s Edge is advantageous.Additional Requirements:Successful completion of criminal history check and TB test.Possession of reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.Health certification requirements including CPR, First Aid, Bloodborne Pathogens within 30 days of employment.Proof of COVID-19 vaccination is mandatory.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Ability to engage with diverse populations in a culturally responsive manner.Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion values.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Proficiency in County and Federal HHS/HUD grant guidelines preferred.Demonstrated ability to write clear, persuasive proposals for nonprofit organizations.Excellent time management skills with proficiency in research proposal best practices.Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.Proficient in MS Office Suite programs.We offer competitive compensation ranging from $79,000.00 - $99,625.00 per year along with benefits including generous time off, health insurance package, retirement plan with match, transgender health benefit equity, 403(b), mass transit FSA, employee assistance program, flexible spending accounts, parental leave, professional development assistance, referral program.Our organization is committed to equity and creating an inclusive work environment as an equal opportunity employer.
