The successful candidate will serve as the legal subject matter expert for account acquisition processes, documentation, and disclosures across all channels. This role is pivotal in ensuring compliance with consumer finance and banking laws and regulations, as well as managing the risk of fair lending and privacy issues. Responsibilities include providing legal advice on client-specific customer acquisition documents, developing and maintaining application and account opening disclosures, and actively participating in new client integrations. The VP Counsel will also be involved in high-profile company-wide initiatives and will lead a team of legal marketing partners. Candidates for this position should have a Bachelor's degree, a J.D., and at least 7 years of relevant law firm or in-house experience. In-depth knowledge of consumer finance and banking laws is essential, and experience with privacy and credit documentation is highly desirable. The role requires the ability to manage multiple complex initiatives, strong judgment, and the proven ability to balance business and legal considerations. The ideal candidate will be dynamic, proactive, and an effective problem solver, with excellent communication skills and the ability to influence and collaborate at all levels of the organization.
