Position SummaryCoachella Valley Firebirds is searching for a qualified, enthusiastic and driven candidate for the position of Marketing Intern. This internship will run during the Fall Semester, from September 2024 to December 2024.

This position pays an hourly wage of $20.

Benefits for PT roles: 401(k) savings plan and 401(k) matching. Also, OVG provides part-time, seasonal, and internship employees with one hour of accrued paid leave per 30 hours worked, up to 48 hours per year.

This position will remain open until September 15th, 2024.

Coachella Valley Firebirds:

The Coachella Valley Firebirds are the AHL’s 32nd Franchise and the affiliate of the Seattle Kraken. The Firebirds are the league's back-to-back Western Conference Champions and the 2024 Calder Cup Pacific Division Champions. The 2024-2025 season will open on October 11.

Responsibilities

Learn about our Digital Asset Management system, upload and tag photos and graphics in the system.

Work with Social Media Manager to assist with social media channels (X, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok) and assist in the creation of content, including graphics and video, for the @firebirds.

Work alongside the Social Media Manager during home games to collect extra content to push out immediately on Instagram and Twitter for live game coverage.

Learn how to operate a professional camera and camera equipment.

Learn how to use Adobe Creative Cloud programs such as Premier Pro, Photoshop, and InDesign.

Learn about social media best practices and managing multiple accounts.

Work with the Integrated Marketing Manager to maintain the web presence with current content, graphics, upcoming events, or announcements.

Work with the Integrated Marketing Manager on creating email newsletters and other lines of communications with current content, graphics, upcoming events, or announcements.

Help identify new strategies or ideas to improve weekly newsletters to subscribers.

Learn how to create, post, and manage website content with the Sr. Integrated Marketing Manager.

Learn how to pull weekly reports for social media, web traffic, and KPI’s for marketing meetings.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Working towards a bachelor's degree or recently graduated with a degree in marketing or communications.

Experience in writing and editing with knowledge of AP styles.

Knowledge of Salesforce, Google Analytics and Adobe Creative Suite is preferred.

Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.

Basic photography skills such as film speed, and light and color requirements.

Capacity to juggle multiple responsibilities simultaneously in deadline-driven environment.

Working knowledge in athletics and gameday/sport event evironments.

Basic knowledge on how to operate various social media channels (X, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok).

Ability to work weekdays and nights, weekends, and holidays when necessary.
