Overview
: the Controller is the senior executive with primary responsibility for managing the financial position and activity of the company. This position is expected to communicate across all levels of the organization.
Primary Responsibilities
include, but are not limited to, the following:
Lead the financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes, including oversight of the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities, forecast and budget submissions, journal entry and expenditure approvals, compensation planning, and cost management
Work with key stakeholders, operating groups, and finance team members to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the financial planning process, assumptions, and results
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (including Acquisitions, Sales, Marketing, Operations, Public Relations, and Legal) in guiding financial operations
Perform deal analysis to optimize profitability and minimize financial risks
Manage residuals and royalties in connection with Vertical assets/titles, including payments and correspondence with licensing and co-acquisition partners
Manage Producer financial statements for Vertical titles/assets
Stay abreast of industry trends, market developments, and emerging technologies to inform strategic financial decisions and drive innovation within the organization
Provide guidance and oversee general Finance and Accounting functions:
Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
Cash Management
External Audit
Tax management and reporting
Financial Forecasting
Bank Relationship Management
Vendor/Contractor Management
Evaluate accounting and tax impact of M&A activity
Qualifications
:
Minimum of 10 years of relevant practical finance/accounting experience in media, distribution, entertainment and/or streaming required
Demonstrated ability to effectively lead cross-functional teams and collaborate with external counterparts
Strong financial acumen with experience managing large budgets efficiently
Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or another relevant field required. Master's degree preferred
Exceptional technical, organizational, verbal and written communication skills required
