HX5 is currently seeking a short-term Designer to join our team in Cleveland, Ohio in support of the GEARS contract at NASA Glenn Research Center. The term for this position is October 2024 - January 2025.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The selected candidate will be responsible for creating precise technical drawings, designing antenna parts and assemblies, and producing 3D-printed components for research and development projects. The selected candidate will support the Advanced High Frequency Branch within the Communications and Intelligent Systems Division at NASA GRC.
Required Skills:Experience creating technical drawings and 3D models using SolidWorks or CREOExperience developing parts and assemblies for experimental antenna fabricationExperience using 3D printers to produce prototypes and componentsAbility to collaborate with other engineers and researchersAbility to document designsFamiliarity with industry standards for complianceOther Desired Skills:
Experience with mechanical design and fabrication of antennas and quasi-optical componentsFamiliarity with RF and microwave engineering principlesStrong problem-solving skills and the ability to think creativelyAttention to detail and accuracyExcellent communication skills, both written and verbalExperience with light machining and use of hand toolsEducation/Experience:
Associate's degree; or High School diploma or equivalent and 5 years of experience.Other Position Requirements:
