We're seeking a Head of Developer Marketing to lead our team of Product Marketing Managers (PMMs) focused on the developer audience. This role is crucial in driving DigitalOcean's growth by creating compelling messaging, go-to-market strategies, and campaigns that resonate with our target audience of individual developers and small teams.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and mentor a team of PMMs, fostering a culture of innovation and developer-centric thinkingDevelop and execute the overall marketing strategy for DigitalOcean's developer audienceCreate product positioning and messaging that effectively communicates our value proposition in the cloud computing and AI spaceDesign and implement go-to-market strategies for new products and featuresCollaborate closely with other teams (Growth, Developer Advocacy, Developer Content, and Partnerships) to ensure consistent brand messaging and drive product adoptionLeverage market research and competitive analysis to inform marketing and product strategiesOwn and track the product roadmap, ensuring excellent product launchesBuild and execute campaigns to drive adoption and revenue for new productsOversee the creation of marketing campaigns that effectively target and engage developersWork with the Developer Content team to ensure alignment of content strategy with overall marketing goalsQualificationsIn-depth experience in product marketing, preferably in developer-focused tech companiesProven track record of leading and mentoring high-performing marketing teamsDeep understanding of developer audiences and the cloud computing/AI landscapeStrong analytical skills and data-driven decision-making approachExcellent communication and storytelling abilitiesExperience with product-led growth strategies, marketing campaign/demand gen executionAbility to influence technical decision-makers and product teamsFamiliarity with developer tools, platforms, and communitiesKey Performance IndicatorsNumber of Qualified Leads generated and percentage that convert to paying customersConversion rates from outbound campaigns to product signupsActivation rates for new products/features, customer retention rates, and churn ratesMarketing activities influence developer mindshareGrowth in market share relative to competitors (win/loss analysis, AR placement)Customer Feedback and NPS scoreTeam performance and feedback during annual employee surveysWhy You'll Like Working for DigitalOceanWe are proud to work here.

The salary range for this position is between $225,000 - $258,000 based on market data, relevant years of experience, and skills a premium would apply to NYC OR SF. You may qualify for a bonus in addition to base salary; bonus amounts are determined based on company and individual performance. We also provide equity compensation to eligible employees, including equity grants upon hire and the option to participate in our Employee Stock Purchase Program.We value diversity and inclusion.
