What you will be doing

The Own Brands Department has an opening for an Own Brands Design Manager, Marketing & Packaging.The Brand Design Manager will support the commercialization of Albertsons Companies Own Brands through superior brand design and packaging production. The manager serves as a technical resource in activating brand development, marketing concepts & packaging design solutions that are aligned to business priorities, on strategy and within budget, resulting in brand continuity, design efficiency and speed to market.

This position provides expertise and leadership in the commercialization of Albertsons Own Brands introduction of new brands and new products through brand visual identity and product packaging and marketing designs.

The position will be based in Pleasanton, CA or Boise, ID, or one of our main regional offices (Seattle, WA, Portland, OR, Denver, CO, Dallas, TX, Chicago, IL, Fullerton, CA, or Phoenix, AZ).

Main Responsibilities

Create innovative design concepts in line with overall brand strategy, across various consumer touchpoints, including marketing components, packaging, sales sheets, signage and special projects as assignedLead design of product packaging with direction from Sr. Packaging Manager, including concept presentations to Packaging, PD and LT leadershipWork cross functionally with Marketing, Packaging and PD to develop multiple iterations of designs for consideration, maintaining brand standards and guardrails, elevated design quality and with a focus on customer experienceWork independently or as part of a larger design team in collaboration and partnership with outside agencies to translates customer needs into actionable design solutionsArt direct and facilitate packaging photoshoots for projects as assigned with direction from Sr. Packaging ManagerAssist with design kickoffs for redesigns, extensions and adaptations for optimal design and print production results.Manage organization of product and packaging assets to ensure information is up-to-date and readily accessibleResponsible for understanding the latest design, brand and packaging trends and innovations

The salary range is $82,900 to $107,680 annually. Starting salary will vary based on criteria such as location, experience, and qualifications. There may be flexibility for exceptional candidates. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, disability and life insurance, sick pay (accrued based on hours worked), PTO/Vacation Pay (accrued based on hours worked) or Flexible Time Of, paid holidays (9days annually), bereavement pay, and retirement benefits (pension and/or 401K eligibility). Associates in this position are also eligible for a quarterly bonus.

What we are searching for

Bachelor degree preferred in Communications, Graphic Design, Marketing8+ years of design of relevant experience, food, grocery, consumer packaged goodsA highly refined design aesthetic with strong typography and concepting skills Understanding of packaging structure, printing, and applying brand standards and guidelinesProficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, etc.) Experience with 3D rendering software is a plusExperience in leading projects, cross functional teams, and influencing others including senior leadershipExcellent presentation skills with the ability to articulate design and visionDemonstrate a high level of interpersonal and communication skillsAbility to motivate, lead, and influence stakeholders across the organizationProven project management skills and ability to successfully manage multiple prioritiesSelf-motivated with the ability to act with a sense of urgency, commitment, and integrity
