What we need
We are looking for an AutoCAD Designer to join our System Layout and Structural Engineering team within our Core Hardware Engineering organization. Your job will be to provide guidance and leadership to AutoCAD Designers in the creation of complex steel structures as part of large-scale automation systems within customer Distribution Centers. You will also be expected to create large steel structure drawings and assembly layouts of advanced automation systems. This opportunity will expose you to a wide variety of sales and engineering teams within our organization as well as customer architects, structural engineers, construction experts and leading-edge technologies in the automation and robotics industries.
What we do
The System Layout and Structural Engineering team is part of the Hardware Engineering organization, which is responsible for the Mechanical, Structural, and Electrical Engineering of the Symbot and the Structure, System Layout, and Electrical Distribution Systems.
What you'll doExhibit solid working knowledge of AutoCAD tools and techniques such as Layers, External References, Dynamic Blocks and File ManagementCreate and manage a set of comprehensive Facility and System level drawings, including plan, elevation, and detail viewsExhibit fluency in both 2D and 3D layout and design assignments.Create and release Engineering Change Orders (ECO) of Bills of Material for core structure and other supporting assemblies of the Symbotic automation systemUtilize your knowledge of structural steel components in the configuration and system release of large steel structures, including multi-disciplinary trades such as MEP (Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing)Possess a team-based work ethic that exhibits a task and process driven focus as well as attention to detail and pride in work accomplishedWhat you'll need
Minimum 2 years' experience in the building and/or machinery industriesMinimum 2 years' experience using AutoCADPrior experience designing projects involving structural steelAutoCAD specific certification(s) a plusExperience in Material Handling and/or Automation Systems a plus
