Please read the following job description thoroughly to ensure you are the right fit for this role before applying.To help provide customers with the best Prime Video experience, we are looking for a Head of Programming to help develop and manage our content programming strategy and operations. This leader should collaborate with our Prime Video business, content and Amazon MGM studio teams to provide actionable feedback on what is most likely to resonate with our audiences and help steer the content decisioning process. With a content-forward background, candidates should have qualitative and quantitative skills to work cross-functionally across internal teams to influence Creative & business leaders. A mind for innovation, thinking big, triangulating trends through customer signals and learning through testing will make this role successful. The candidate should be comfortable operating within a matrix structure, leading by influence and solving hard ambiguous problems. A successful candidate will need to balance audience metrics, customer insights and creative innovation to help delight our customers.The role requires experience in using customer insights, 1P and secondary research, and other data to build a holistic plan to fulfill our customer’s entertainment needs year-round. Working with Amazon Studios, Content Acquisition, Marketing, Finance, PR, and global teams, this role will help define and optimize our release calendar to ensure we regularly delight customers with new and engaging content. Using audience insights data, the Head of Programming will influence partner teams to identify the most appealing content for our customers, evaluate and propose the optimal scheduling, and ensure partner teams are on track for successful launches. The Head of Programming will also contribute to evaluating title performance potential, establishing targets and own planning to market our key content.

Key job responsibilities• Develop a deep understanding of Indian customer segments (across both existing customers of Prime Video and external users of streaming services) and their content needs to help drive the continued growth of Prime Video.• Create and maintain an annual programming strategy with optimal content mix/volume to (i) engage and retain our existing users (ii) acquire new customer cohorts for long term profitable business growth.• Run/Co-run India Programming Strategy Monthly Business Review as well as other cross-functional mechanisms, ensuring that our Programming Strategy activities are in line with our goals and maximize global, regional, and local impact.• Build durable mechanisms to develop SOPs, tenets, and guidelines related to title release strategy (e.g., day of week, cadence, localization among others).• Conduct content research across the entire lifecycle (ideation, content, creative, marketing salience) to determine potential for acquisition and engagement.• Leverage data to ensure marketing resources are efficiently allocated at a title and service level.• Overall stakeholder management to keep relevant teams and owners aligned on deadlines and requirements to meet title launch timelines.• Proactively monitor market trends using primary research and secondary data, to input into the content curation strategy of Prime Video.• Conduct measurement of content and marketing investments to determine business performance.• Build progress reports for local teams and global senior leadership on portfolio performance, slate planning and other global/regional programming review.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS ROLE CRITERIA:• This is a role that requires an incredibly high-velocity of decision making and getting things rolling amongst a large set of leaders. A self-driven approach is crucial.• Self-starter skilled at prioritizing and managing multiple projects, teams and deadlines that run simultaneously.• Demonstrated success in influencing cross-functional teams, senior stakeholders and leadership across teams.• Has ability to quickly innovate, implement, learn through experiments and scale based on learning.• The candidate will need to have exemplary communication skills (both written and verbal) to drive strategic content recommendations with other leaders and earn trust with colleagues across the business.• Experience using data and metrics to measure impact and determine improvements.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS- Experience using data and metrics to drive improvements- Experience using Microsoft Excel to manipulate and analyze data- Proven analytical and quantitative skills with a passion and aptitude for analysis- Demonstrated ability to generate ideas and independently solve problems with a logical, data-driven approach- Master’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Economics or similar

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS - Relevant experience in the entertainment industry of audience and programming analysis, OTT/television content and trend research, or data and consumer insights- Excellent business judgment and an ability to think strategically and help build execution plans- Demonstrated ability to work effectively across business teams to deliver business results, experience in project management across multiple teams in an organization- Ability to prioritize and multi-task across multiple workstreams- Strong bias for action and sense of urgency; the ability to make things happen quickly
