The department has approximately 250 administrative & classified employees, hosts over 600,000 spectators annually, and represents the University of Oregon in athletic competition with other universities & colleges.Position SummaryThe Assistant Director for Marketing, Community Outreach & Student Engagement exercises independent, professional judgment beyond proscribed routine policies and procedures to carry out their responsibilities for the development, coordination, and implementation of marketing initiatives to increase community and student attendance along with engagement at all UO athletic events. This position will oversee the recruitment and management of the Pit Crew Student Organization and Junior Duck Club kids’ program.• Two years of experience working in the areas of marketing or community relations.• Entrepreneurial, communicative, interpersonal, and organizational skills.• Solid administrative skills and the ability to motivate staff and volunteers to achieve department goals.• Ability to strategize, prioritize, and multi-task to meet goals and deadlines.• High motivation with a capacity for hard work within the context of an intensely goal-orientedPreferred Qualifications• Experience working within college athletics.• Working knowledge of Photoshop, InDesign & Illustrator.• Candidates with experience serving the needs of diverse populations are strongly desired.• Knowledge of Eugene and the surrounding community or the University of Oregon campus.FLSA Exempt: YesAll offers of employment are contingent upon successful completion of a background check.The University of Oregon is proud to offer a robust benefits package to eligible employees, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
