The Quality Engineering Manager at KinderCare leads the testing team and drives QE strategy across various product implementations. You'll develop, implement, and maintain a system of quality and reliability testing for KinderCare’s products and development processes.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Lead and mentor a team, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities, ensure to create a fallback plan, succession planning and ranking of team members

Strategically prioritize test coverage for areas of product based on criticality, usage, and risk

Collaborate with IT and Business partners to deliver outstanding results by defining testing strategies aligning with product roadmap, business objectives and remediate product quality issues

Implement methodologies and tools to stream line testing processes, optimize testing workflows, maintain quality testing standards & procedures, and improve team collaboration and efficiency

Establish, monitor, and report QE metrics & performance indicators to measure testing speed, coverage, and quality; adjust strategy and execution to achieve goals

Work closely with engineering leadership to build a multi-layer testing strategy that integrates in the overall software development lifecycle and is optimized for the right balance of speed for test coverage and quality of output, including mapping out needs for unit, functional, integration, and end-to-end testing

Lead continuous improvement and team optimization

Own technical roadmap of the automation suites that cover our products/ user journeys; Implement an automation and performance testing strategy, execute and review results with various product, IT and Business partners

Develop, implement, and maintain a planning model to estimate, track, and report return on investment for test automation.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, statistics, or related field; or equivalent work experience

Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to empower and inspire cross-functional teams

5+ years of proven QA experience of UI testing (both manual & automation)– includes browsers and mobile apps

2+ years of experience managing teams and resources, with the ability to lead and influence within a matrixed environment with sense of business acumen

1+ years of experience supporting UAT Testing or acting as UAT coordinator

Demonstrate deep understanding and practical experience with cloud-based architectures and infrastructure, in context of software testing and quality engineering

Self-starter who can navigate and resolve time & resource constraints, complexity of applications, changing technology landscape, team management & motivation, balancing quality with business needs

Experience of creating automation and performance strategy, implementing, and executing for delivery excellence

SAFe or Agile certification, preferred

Experience using cloud-based solutions for web & mobile testing – ex Browser stack, Perfecto etc., preferred

Experience using low code tools like Katalon, AccelQ, etc., preferred

Ability and appetite to lead and engage diverse and equitable teams

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

Basic skills in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript

Familiarity with leading tools such as Maven, Jenkins, Bitbucket/Git Repos.

Proven ability to build automation testing frameworks from scratch using tools like Karate, Selenium, Cucumber, Rest Assured, etc.

Solid understanding of good software engineering practices including CI/CD and automated testing
