As the Director of Social Media, you will work under the supervision of the Head of Brand, and support activity across all Chegg social platforms, with a focus on our priority channels: TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube.You'll be given license to start from scratch, and build a vision for this brand in Social from the ground up, balancing the essentials of social Brand Hygiene (Community Management guidance, Channel strategy, etc.), through to culture-forward and topical content and trend-jacking that will put Chegg front and center with our target audience. This role will be a valuable conduit and connection to what our Students are doing.What you'll do:Responsible for developing a vision and strategy for Chegg's Social presence, laddering up to our brand and business goals.Responsible for delivering a social-first approach to Chegg's channels through engaging, timely and well-executed content that people want to see and share with their friends.Will lead the messaging and content strategy to support company initiatives (campaigns, new product features, partnerships, leadership news, etc.).Will manage all social media content calendars and will be responsible for the proactive ideation and creation of content.Ownership and oversight of weekly, monthly, and quarterly analytics reporting, providing clear insights to working teams, setting realistic project goals, and creating up-to-date benchmarking for cross-functional stakeholders.Work cross-functionally to support extended Chegg teams with their messaging goals, including Public Relations/Comms, Product, Customer Service, and Operations.Will work closely with our Creative partners, ensuring our brand voice is consistent.Will educate the working team on evolving best practices across all social media platforms (YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Twitch, X, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Discord).Will oversee a Social Media associate, and manage and mentor them.About you:6-8 years of demonstrated social media leadership experience at a major brand or creator account. Preferred industries are tech, lifestyle, or services, with a focus on youth audiences.You're chronically online with a strong pulse of trends across both general and niche audiences.Video portfolio that includes long and short-form content.Video production experience and are deeply familiar with editing and creator tools for social platforms.Ability to work and create against a high-output content strategy.Deep understanding of key short-term and long-term KPIs and measuring social success.A proficient writer with a strong understanding of how audiences speak on the internet; a written test will be required.Passionate about current culture: sports, fashion, entertainment, music, and art.Bachelor's degree is preferred in Communications, English, Business, Sports Marketing, or related field.Nice to have skills:Content-minded individual who can ideate and execute.Up to date on new platform features/tools, algorithm changes, and platform news.Data-first thinker with an always-on pulse of what's working, what's not, and the ability to explain why.Adapt to change easily and provide actionable solutions when the unexpected occurs.Organized, pay attention to the details, and can keep track of many moving parts.The pay range for this position is $144,696 to $258,294. The actual pay will vary based on geographic location, job requirements, professional experience, and other factors.
