Job Description:General Dynamics Information Technology is seeking a Senior UI/UX Human Centered Designer to support the

Food and Drug Administration (FDA)

and their critical mission needs.

As a

HCD lead Designer , you will be part of an agile delivery team focused on delivering new customer-facing web-based applications with an emphasis on providing high-value features to our customers. You will serve as a core support member for the team, working closely with the Product Owner and high-performing development team to help manage the product. The primary responsibility will be to create user journey maps and personas for multiple use cases; analyze existing systems and functionalities and develop wireframes and mockups aligned with USWDS, FDA, and other guidelines and standards while integrating the needs of the projects as well as the needs of several different stakeholders to produce an overall solution.

The ideal candidate is someone with strong analysis skills, HCD and UI/UX knowledge combined with the ability to clearly communicate UI/UX concepts and the current Information Architecture. A successful candidate will have the appropriate experience and business understanding to prioritize initiatives and work with both management and our clients.

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACTDriving the full lifecycle of responsive design: content-first design, logic flows, storyboards, personas, wireframes, low fidelity mock-ups, sitemaps, information architecture, and UI specifications, to provide end-to-end dynamic design flowsExplanation and Justification for and application of UX/UI practices such as LeanUX, and human-centered design (HCD), regulatory mandates and legislationConduct analysis of 4-5 existing screens and create consolidated wireframes, storyboards, sitemaps, and screen flows (e.g., using tools such as Figma, Mural, Balsamiq)Analyze existing documentation and understand workflows, construct personas, and assess usabilityAnalyze usage metrics and feedback for trends, patterns, issues, and opportunities for UX enhancementAssist with content development and align with EPLC documentationAssist with web application requirements, development, and testing

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:Requirements:Bachelor's degree in User Experience Design, Interactive and Visual Design, Communication Design, Interaction Design, or equivalent experience5+ years of UI/UX lead experience10+ years of User Experience (UX) Design3+ years experience with tools such as Figma, Mural, BalsamiqAbility to attain Public Trust L2

The likely salary range for this position is $123,250 - $166,750. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location, and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
