CAD Designers for our client in the Middleton, WI area!Position Summary:Responsible for the design and engineering work required turning a concept into a design that can be manufactured and installed. Provides creative and effective design solutions for the food service industry. To plan, design, and furnish interior environments of commercial, and industrial buildings according to needs of clients. Lays out complete products and prepares assembly and detail drawings, following the general instructions and directions of a sales person, project manager or designer. Makes various calculations such as strength of materials, weights, simple forces, and stresses, frequently using charts and tables. Designs, develops, and improves new or existing products and directs the building and testing of prototypes

Pay ranges:$45,000 - $70,000

Location:Middleton, WI

Hours:

7:00 a.m. 3:30 or 4:00 p.m. (can be flexible)Summer Hours:

Monday - Thursday (regular hours) and Fridays 7:00am- 1:00pm!1. Modeling (30%):

Identifies materials, components, structure and manufacturingoptions; prepares layouts, creates sketches, recommends color palettes, parts andassemblies. Analyzes various design requirements and recommends possiblesolutions or alternate constructions. Integrates clients wishes with knowledge ofdesign and develops a plan to best accommodate function, artistic preference, andbudget. Creates scale (3-D) models of prototypes.2. Create drawings (30%):

Prepares floor plan layouts, assembly, exterior or interiorsite and building concept drawings, and detail drawings for new or improvedproducts, special machinery design, test equipment, tools, fixtures and gaugedesign. Originates and/or develops designs for products relating to definedcustomer needs or as possible proprietary items. Creates various detailed viewsneeded for manufacturing, including isometric, dependant and piece-part views.Adds dimensions, tables, notes, relations between components, etc. Adheres todesign and manufacturing standards. Displays final drawing to verify completeness,clarity and accuracy.3. Product/Prototype support (25%):

Identifies design issues, generates andassesses alternatives; facilitates discussion, agreement and resolution among keyparties. As necessary, produces revised drawings.4. File conversions (5%):

Retrieves the design and converts the file into a suitableformat for vendor and customer review and usage; provides package file anddrawings.5. File Set-up (5%):

Submits final plans to production. Displays final drawing andconverts the file into a suitable format for review and production usage.6. File Maintenance (5%):

Saves, files and organizes art files and support files forefficient retrieval and future use.

Qualifications:1. Education:

Associates degree in Engineering Technology, Fine arts or related.2. Experience:

Three years experience with materials selection, manufacturingprocesses, statics/dynamics as well as computer-aided design.3. Computer/Software and Office Equipment Skills:

Highly skilled in use of CADstandards, including AutoCAD and Sketchup. Proficient with Microsoft Office.Personal Attributes Required:Must have effective interaction and collaborative skills. Effective written andverbal communication skills are required. Must demonstrate a high level ofinitiative and ability to establish and maintain effective customer, visitor andvendor relationships by using well-developed and appropriate interpersonal skills.

Essential Physical/ Mental Requirements:1.

Must be able to sit for periods of extended times throughout the day.2.

Most of the work is performed in an office setting. Position doesoccasionally interact with manufacturing personnel in the production areasand can be exposed to noise and fumes.3.

Must have good time management skills.4.

Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, colorvision and the ability to adjust focus.5.

Ability to work with mathematical concepts and fundamentals of plane andsolid geometry and trigonometry.6.

Must be able to communicate effectively on the telephone and in personwith individuals to provide and gather information.7.

Must have the ability to maintain concentration and focus on tasksrequiring timeliness and accuracy.
