Job Description:

The Executive Director of Creative Content is a professional, leadership position that is responsible for the organization and production of all creative and feature video content promoting LSU's nationally recognized athletics programs and published on LSU Athletics' official external channels. This role oversees a variety of creative content including television, social media, subscription, in-venue video board pieces, mobile app-based content and more. This position collaborates with social and digital media, media relations, marketing and promotions teams, creative services, LSU Sports Properties, NIL and other departments to develop digital storytelling, features and messaging. Additionally, this person oversees the planning and execution of the feature content being produced for the department's subscription content service, currently branded LSU GOLD. This person will play a significant leadership role to manage direct reports overseeing creative and feature video, as well as the team of full-time producers, graduate assistants and student workers in the department. This person may be assigned to a sport to provide team content coverage as necessary, for a sport to be determined.

40% Manages the full creative content structure, including direct reports overseeing creative and feature content. Provides organization, structure, scheduling and planning to the creative content team, inclusive of all full-time producers, graduate assistants and student workers. Problem solves for the department, identifies solutions to issues and builds a vision for next steps and future possible revenue streams.

20% Collaborates with other stakeholders in the department, including digital media, media relations, marketing, creative services, LSU Sports Properties and NIL to develop storytelling, messaging and revenue possibilities. Ensures strong partnership between the rest of the creative content team and these other areas, as well as with coaches, student-athletes, administration, fans, etc.

15% Knowledgeable of and ensure compliance with departmental, University, conference and NCAA procedures, rules and regulations. Ensures content produced for all platforms meets and exceeds defined standards and is within the LSU brand style guidelines. Works alongside multiple groups on daily projects and conceptualizing content while scheduling the workflow and responsibilities of the Creative Content department.

15% Serves as the lead producer on a nationally recognized sport to be determined. Provides coverage at home and road events, creates creative content to be used on all external channels, fulfills creative needs for that sport for other areas in the department, and potentially produces feature content related to that sport for LSU's subscription content platform. Completes these tasks with assistance from rest of creative content team, including graduate assistants and students.

5% Manages budgeting for creative content department, identify needs and strategically planning for future capital needs. Ensures responsible use of graduate assistant and students, builds plan for purchase of gear, and develops plan for growth with personnel, equipment and space.

5% Advances and supports LSU and Athletics Department initiatives through personal participation in educational and developmental opportunities, as well as participation in the creation of an inclusive culture consistent with the values of LSU and its Athletics Department; Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Communications, Multimedia or a similar field of study with seven years of experience creating, producing, and directing high quality programming; Strong understanding of production / post-production process; Previously held positions which included supervisory and managerial responsibilities; Experience in video production and non-linear editing; Working knowledge and experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, Photoshop, After Effects, etc.) and Apple computers; Proven content creation skills in a high paced, demanding professional setting; Working knowledge of video production equipment; operating cameras, microphones, tripods, stabalizers, etc.; Understanding of and alignment with the Core Values of LSU Athletics.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working with a collegiate or professional athletic program.

Special or Physical Requirements:

Willingness to work events and games which often include extended days, nights and weekends; occasional travel is required.
