Designs components or portions of systems and modifies existing designs to develop or improve products and facilitate manufacturing operations. Utilizes computer-aided design equipment and/or graphic tools such as, Creo and NX. Gathers information and prepares original rough layouts, sketches to present design proposal, and implements design changes. The role also includes both drafting and design checking responsibilities.

The selected candidate will be required to work full-time, on-site at our facility in Northridge, CA. There is no remote / hybrid / telework available for this position. Relocation assistance, while not guaranteed, may be available. This program supports AARGM/ER under Advanced Weapons.

Basic qualifications:

High School diploma or equivalent and 6 years of related experience. Will accept a bachelors or higher degree plus at least 2 years of related experience.

Must have experience in (2) of the following:

Experience with electromechanical design

Experience with drafting utilizing MIL standards

Experience using CREO Parametric

Ability to obtain US Gov't Secret clearance

Preferred qualifications:

Experience working on cross functional teams to conceptualize, design, and develop electromechanical systems.

Experience with envelope drawings as it pertains to CCA design and development.

Familiarity with electro-mechanical components and integration within systems. (motors, sensors, actuators, etc…)

Experience with cable design utilizing CREO cabling and Siemens Capital.

Experience with Model Based Definition (MBD) and Product Manufacturing Information (PMI)

Experience with detailed tolerance analyses

Self-Starter familiar with dynamic work environments.

Certification as an Engineer-In-Training (EIT).

Familiarity with PTC Creo (7.0 is preferred) and Windchill.

Familiarity with ASME Y14.5.

Experience with additive manufacturing (3D Printing, Rapid Prototyping, etc...).

Experience with Machining (Mill, Lathe, Router, etc...)

Active US Gov't Secret clearance

Salary Range:

$81,500 - $135,900

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
