Accredited by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, Cleveland Clinic's Sleep Disorders Center performs more than 9,000 sleep studies each year, using each result to help our patients find answers in the diagnosis and treatment of sleep disorders.Our Sleep Center is looking to add a Non-Registered Polysomnographic Technician to our dedicated team. In this role, your duties will include but are not limited to:* Performing basic and advanced diagnostic sleep studies.* Preparing patients and equipment for testing, as well as performing and documenting the testing.* Interviewing the patient to determine sleep disorder issues and explaining the testing.* Monitoring patients throughout the testing.* Scoring, interpreting, and reporting sleep study results.Our ideal future caregiver is someone who:* Has previous direct patient care experience.* Thrives in a close-knit team environment.* Demonstrates a strong and reliable work ethic.* Is willing to learn and adapt.By taking this night shift opportunity, you'll be able to grow in your career and move into different positions within Cleveland Clinic and the Sleep Center itself. When you join Cleveland Clinic, you'll be part of a supportive caregiver family that will be united in shared values and purpose to fulfill our promise of being the best place to receive care and the best place to work in healthcare.**Responsibilities:**+ Prepares patient and equipment for ordered testing.+ Interviews patient to determine sleep disorder issues and to explain testing procedures.+ Performs and documents testing.+ Monitors patient throughout testing and intervenes as necessary to resolve patient needs or equipment issues under minimal supervision.+ Scores, interprets and reports results of sleep studies.+ Prepares, calibrates, repairs and maintains equipment required for testing.+ Determines and reports needed repairs/replacements.+ Other duties as assigned.**Education:**+ High school diploma or GED.**Certifications:**+ Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through American Heart Association (AHA)+ Registry (RPSGT, RST, REEGT, or RRT) required within 18 months of hire**Complexity of Work:**+ Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.+ Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.**Work Experience:**+ Minimum one year polysomnographic testing and scoring experience.+ One year of EEG, Respiratory Therapy or healthcare related experience may substitute.**Physical Requirements:**+ Requires full range of body motion including standing and walking for extended periods of time; must lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.+ Ability to assist with positioning and transporting patients.+ Requires the ability to maneuver equipment and motor coordination to operate equipment.+ Requires normal or corrected vision and hearing to normal range.+ Manual and finger dexterity and hand-eye coordination.+ Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.+ Possible exposure to communicable diseases and body fluids.**Personal Protective Equipment:**+ Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.Salaries [which may be] shown on independent job search websites reflect various market averages and do not represent information obtained directly from The Cleveland Clinic.
