Your Role:The Head of Communications, US Region for EMD Electronics is responsible for developing and executing comprehensive communication strategies that align with our corporate objectives and support our business goals within the US region. Together with their team, it is crucial that the individual in this role foster strong relationships with both internal stakeholders and external partners, shaping the company’s brand reputation, and enhancing stakeholder engagement through effective communication initiatives. In addition, the person in this role may act as a Business Partner for a business unit, serving as a strategic advisor and partner for internal and external communications and anticipating their communications needs holistically.Key Responsibilities:Craft compelling and impactful messaging targeted at various stakeholders, including employees, customers, partners, media, and other external audiences.Drive employee engagement and ensure consistent and transparent internal communication through various channels.Proactively identify communication opportunities, anticipate potential risks or issues, and develop crisis communication plans as needed.Manage media relations and act as a spokesperson for the company in the US, establishing and maintaining strong relationships with journalists and media outlets.Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as Marketing, Human Resources, and Legal, to ensure alignment and consistency of messaging across all communication touchpoints.Monitor and analyze communication metrics to measure the effectiveness of communication initiatives, provide insights, and make data-driven recommendations for continuous improvement.Stay informed about industry trends, regulatory changes, and competitive landscape to effectively position the company and adapt communication strategies accordingly.The preferred location for this role is Tempe, AZ (on-site). Other locations, including fully remote, may also be considered.Who You AreMinimum Qualifications:English fluency in both written and verbal communicationBachelor degree in Public Relations, Journalism, Business Administration, International Relations or related field8+ years of relevant media relations / communications experience in multinational corporate and/or leading communications advisory firm(s)Experience in working with senior leaders in an international matrix organizationProven experience in leading (virtual) teamsPreferred Qualifications:Strong network amongst US journalists at key business/economy focused media outlets as well as non-journalistic influencers.Network with trade outlets focusing on electronics industrySenior communicator with excellent business partnering and stakeholder management abilitiesProven expertise in writing press releases and reactive statements and preparing media interviews and keynote speechesDistinct collaboration skills in working within a team of global communications professionals across an international matrix organizationAble to handle several projects simultaneously, adapt quickly to new topics and deliver on tight deadlines.Willingness to travel within the region as well as internationally (once or twice per year)
