The ideal candidate must possess the qualities to plan and implement work in assigned functional areas. A successful candidate will be an organized self-starter who is passionate about public service and sharing data with the public in a transparent and consumable way.The position will be based at the OPSB Central Office at 2401 Westbend Parkway. Traveling to various schools in the city will be required on an infrequent basis. Some evening and weekend hours will be required.Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Analytics & Tool DevelopmentSupport the development of a suite of analytic tools designed using R, Excel, Power Query, PowerBI, and other tools;Develop new analytic tools and front-end visualizations for a wide variety of audiences;Leads reporting efforts for targeted communications including preliminary rosters, core match results communications, sibling verification rosters, and match target collection;Develop and continually improve demand reports to better inform school planning decisions;Develop automated test cases to validate match output files;Support end users in utilizing all developed tools;Develops dashboards to support strategic communications from the school district to families;Ad-hoc analyses and visualization of system and school data as requested by internal and external stakeholders;Serves as a liaison for submitting and reviewing state data requests for custom files;Geocodes addresses using GIS software or scripting to develop maps and files as needed.CommunicationCommunicate with external development team about system enhancements; andCreate technical documentation for new and existing system functionality.OtherProvides support, trainings, resources and enrollment engagement activities for New Orleans families and students throughout year, including weeknights, weekends, and summer.Attends staff and other district meetings as necessary; andPerforms other duties as required.Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree required.Minimum of 7 years' experience required.Other Knowledge, Skills, or Abilities Required

Proficient in Microsoft Excel, R;Experience with Power Query, PowerBI, SQL, and front-end visualization technologies (D3.js, React.js, JQuery);Experience in web design and development (CSS);Comfort with analyzing, managing, and processing large sets of data; working knowledge of data systems and their underlying data architecture;Database management experience and an understanding of object-oriented data systems are preferred. Salesforce experience is a plus; andExperience working with APIs/JSON is a plus.$65,400 - $99,735 a year
