About the role:

Reporting into Global Medical Communications, the Associate Director, Global Medical Affairs Congress Excellence Lead is a visible role to support the development, operationalization, and execution of Takeda GMA’s scientific and medical congress strategy. You will be the champion to create a roadmap and process for Medical Congress presence and engagement and requires a person who can collaborate cross-functionally to create an industry-leading operational framework and work independently in a fast-paced environment.How you will contribute:

Develop and manage the annual congress strategic planning process for Global Medical Affairs (including forecasting +3 years) and ensuring proper linkage to the Annual Global Medical and Budget Planning processStrive to ensure appropriate and adequate cross-functional representation at annual and periodic congress planning meetingsContribute to development of key communication initiatives to support GMA’s value story (e.g., internal messages or SharePoint, as decided)Maintain a high level of cross-functional coordination, strategic planning, budget and compliance adherence, liaising with other planning groups (e.g., global meetings and events, finance, etc.)Benchmark and develop insights strategy to ensure constant awareness of changing landscape of scientific congress presence to support elevating Takeda’s leadership presenceCollaborate on new/innovative/digital engagement and communications approaches associated with congress strategies (e.g. OneTakeda congress app)Develop and/or maintain library of congress-related templates (e.g., congress flow diagrams, playbook, pre-con decks, post-con decks, symposia, planning meetings, internal communication templates) and congress-related creative needs (e.g., medical branding colors and styles) to elevate and support a OneTakeda presenceDevelop and implement impactful metric measures for medical activities at congresses enable adapting best practices, lessons learned to inform future planning consistently.Develop and manage internal congress Teams sites, and various digital resources. •Drive any needed congress workstream “think tank” initiativesInform the list of GMA preferred agencies for congress useEnsure and maintain Takeda’s awareness of industry standards and best practices, and lessons learned to inform Takeda’s congress strategyMinimum Requirements/Qualifications:

A relevant healthcare degree is required.

A medical or scientific degree (MD, PharmD,

PhD, RN, MS, etc.) is preferred5+ years of experience in the biopharmaceutical industry preferably within a matrix structure and medical affairs roles (e.g. Medical Science Liaison, Medical Information, Medical Communications, Medical Education, Publications) for candidates with doctoral degree.7+ years experience in the biopharmaceutical industry for candidates with a master’s degreeExperience and good knowledge of congress planning and best practices is preferredStrong collaborator able to inspire teamworkExperience managing complex cross-functional projects, multi-department budgets, PO processes and vendor managementWell-developed ability to identify and interpret problems, recommend creative solutions, and influence the decision-making process to obtain optimum solutionsAbility to multi-task and oversee multiple activities simultaneously while facing many deadlinesFamiliarity with international regulatory and legal guidelines regarding medical communication strategy and executionMore about us:

U.S. Base Salary Range:$149,100.00 - $234,300.00

The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/ or long-term incentives. U.S. based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others.
