Job Summary

This position is an integral part of the dynamic Shiseido US Integrated Communications team supporting all strategies, activations, communications programs, and initiatives. The Manager will support the Director, US Integrated Communications, in planning and executing all tactics supporting the brand's communication plan. This role requires a strong knowledge of social media, PR, influencer marketing and events. The successful candidate can propose new ideas and create synergies across various media verticals. Having a pulse of the latest trends within the beauty/fashion/lifestyle space is critical. Diligent management of the budget, campaign priorities, and adherence to corporate guidelines will be an ongoing expectation.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

StrategySupport the brand communication strategy that promotes and protects our brand story, elevates our luxury positioning, and amplifies our brand awareness in the US. Track and measure performance against benchmarks and KPIs to enable consistent reporting on progress and success sharing with a focus on EMV, engagement, relevance and brand preference.Influencer Relations

Monitor a wide network of talent, tastemakers, industry leaders and partners who embody the culture and values of Shiseido with a focus on skincare authorities, luxury brand partners, key opinion leaders/brand ambassadors.Consistently manage influencer outreach list and identify opportunities to cultivate relationships with influencers that have an affinity toward the brandIdeate and evaluate opportunities for partnerships to grow brand awareness and reachIdeate around impactful influencer programming, collaborations and partnerships to support strategic launches including seedingExplore opportunities for product integrations (film, TV, etc.) that will work to deliver positive transferable brand equity to Shiseido and increase cultural relevancyPartner with paid media team to ideate around 360 launch strategies and influencer support (such as content creation optimized for paid media)Monitor the team's performance with mega, mid-tier and micro influencers to drive organic brand support and earned media valueMedia Relations/Communications

Oversee Coordinator's management of media and influencer lists, ensuring they are updated on a regular basis to confirm we are pitching and sending product to all key players in the industryOversee statements, cross-company coordination, crisis communications and development of materials for key interviews, meetings and eventStorytelling and Sustainability

Ideate and develop big ideas to support brand equity/DNA, Japanese heritage and drive forward US communications strategy to maximize earned media across all platformsManage relationship with brand's charitable efforts (Skin Cancer Foundation Partnership) and build out communications plans and go to market strategies to support our key brand tenetsActivation and Management

Lead communication efforts for key launches and initiatives in close partnership with cross functional teamsRecap and present initiatives to US team and cross-functional partners with a keen focus on performance vs KPIsSupport team in planning all influencer and press events; oversee coordination of logistics including production, venue selection, catering, etc. with the support of external partnersProvide strong leadership and oversee the teams' daily projects and responsibilities to elevate the team's overall workSupport seeding strategies, product forecasts and inventory oversight for all new and existing product launchesOversee and manage the implementation of the annual Ratings and Review program for all key launches and core products supporting Shiseido.com and retailersFinancial Accountability

Manages integrated communications budget throughout the yearAssist Finance with budget spend reporting and analysis to clearly track and report on budget vs actuals.Review, track and submit invoices through approval processFacilitate processing of invoices from key vendors on an ongoing basisDrive contract negotiations with influencer managersQualifications & Competencies

Strong understanding and passion for the beauty and cosmetics industryBachelor of Arts degree preferably in Communications, English or Journalism.4-6 years of experience in public relations/communications in agency or in-house, excluding internships. Experience in beauty PR preferred.Extensive knowledge of the influencer and media landscape in the USStrong relationships with influencers and editors (digital/print)A strong sense of urgency, ability to manage details and projects while responding to changing priorities and feedback.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with sometimes short lead times, and pivot to address changing priorities.Professional writing skills, including strategies, press releases, media alerts, talking points, and guidelines amongst othersStrong proficiency in budget managementDemonstrates a high level of maturity, resourcefulness, and poise in executive and corporate settingMust work well with a large team in an open-office settingHolds a strong work ethic and standard for which tasks and projects are completed (Attention to detail is a must)Must be organized, creative, detail-oriented, able to prioritize multiple projects and possess an advanced understanding of industry trends, competition and innovation.Skillful at building corporate allies, especially among key business partners, with a record of demonstrated ability to exercise excellent judgement consistently and build rapport quickly with both internal and external stakeholders of all levelsA values-based leader with a growth mindset, able to develop talent, led by example and motivate othersKnowledge of current trends, media industry news, entertainment/pop cultureConsumer focused decision maker with strong understanding of social/digital marketingAbility to work independently and utilize sound judgment.Software expertise - MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint
