Job Description:

Alation is looking for an experienced and highly motivated Visual Designer who demonstrates a strong understanding of motion design and how to apply strategic design thinking across multiple marketing channels including web, email, social, events, and sales. This individual is an integral part of the Web and Brand Design team, leading the creation of motion designs and how we use it in campaigns. As a Visual Designer, you are an innovator, learner, and have strong attention to detail. You have experience working on brand/identity systems and are seasoned at preparing and professionally presenting your work to various stakeholders.

You should have at least 5+ years of experience demonstrating stewardship of Brand Design and development of various content types, especially with creative work for video and illustration.

The ideal candidate highly values collaboration and can synthesize clear design solutions with a distinct bias for action while factoring in the implications of a global brand. This is an individual contributor who will report to the Director of Web and Creative Marketing as well as work alongside content creators and marketing managers to understand the holistic seller journey and generate innovative and effective creative across all marketing channels.

What you'll be doing:

As the Visual Designer, you'll...

Create and/or oversee the generation of externally facing communication assets, including, but not limited to, videos, sales collateral, presentations, organic social media, paid advertising, and website, email, and event environmental graphics.Work closely with stakeholders, including the executive leadership team, to ensure accurate intake of project requirements, share creative concepts, and navigate feedback to ensure timely meeting of the stakeholders and brand design team's needs.Independently assess and problem-solve with each project request, providing recommendations while partnering regularly with the Director of Web and Creative Marketing to ensure all deliverables and deadlines are met.Work on a wide range of presentations to provide the best slide and presentation experience, from sales pitch decks to company all-hands to corporate announcements and initiatives.Update and maintain a repository of visual assets, including stock photography, iconography, and graphic design files.Overseeing template creation for Canva, Slides, and other marketing materials.Continually develop and evolve the Alation brand by actively researching and staying on top of innovations within and outside the industry, which could provide opportunities.Manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks based on deadlines and stakeholder needs.Develop fresh creative branding concepts for company initiatives including, but not limited to, company kick-offs, industry conferences, and special projects, like product animation creation.You should have (in no particular order):

Bachelor's Degree or higher in Fine Arts, Graphic Design, Digital Media Design, Advertising/Portfolio school or equivalent combination of education and work experience5+ years of design experience, specializing in brand creation and design systems for digital and traditional media.2+ years of motion and illustration design experience.Detailed, hands-on experience working within an established design system to create scalable experiences across channels while maintaining consistency and brand integrity.Ability to share ideas and receive feedback from business partners and stakeholders through presentations and writingProficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, Canva, Google Slides, and Microsoft PowerPoint, Google Office, Slack, Asana; high-level proficiency in After Effects.Able to work both independently and collaboratively in remote settings.A strong design sensibilities and problem-solving skills, as well as a thorough understanding of how information hierarchy, color theory, typography, composition, and other design principles come together to create effective, impactful designs.Have an excellent eye for details and can spot when something isn't aligned, even if off by just one pixel.Have excellent communication and project management skills-you're not afraid to speak up and ask questions, but always #listenlikewerewrong.Online portfolio or PDF demonstrating complete design process, including project goal, strategic vision, concept development, high-quality creative execution, and impact of finished work.Nice to Haves:

Compensation Pay Range:$129,250.00 - $148,500.00

Salary Information

The base salary range is specific to the United States. The salary of the final candidate selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to internal equity, experience, education, work location, specialty and training. If the final candidate has a different level of experience, the base salary target range may be lower or higher than what is published.
